From Modelzone in Manchester WHSmith's:

Airfix 1/72nd Hurricane Mk.1

Looks lovely in the box... To be Spanish Republican.

Ohh nice idea and should be rather colourful

Cheers - was going to do it at the time of the SCW GB a few years ago, but never got the time. There's a crappy old Revell Hurricane and an Aeroclub 2-blade prop somewhere in the stash....

Some booty from last weekend's trip:
A vintage Matchbox He 115 (turned out to miss clear parts sprue  :-\)
An Italeri Saab Gripen
A Nakotche MiG 29 (horrible thing, will be slashed up and re-configurated, anyway)
A Revell Messerschmitt P.1101

Surprise delivery yesterday was another Airfix F-2A had pre-ordered from Wonderland. A surprise as i checked my account as i couldn't remember if i had ordered one and couldn't find it recorded !

Oh snagged off Kingkit after following the link in the Avro Arrow thread i managed to get the 2nd edition Fujimi 1/72 F-4K Yellow Bird . Very handy for doing the late 50's early 70s RN tooms plus the development aircraft and it like the F-4m has not been reboxed since the 90s.

I was looking for a cheap kit in order to convert it to a single-engined aircraft. Even though the kit is... crappy it turned out that its construction is perfect for this task, and it is SO wrong that it will certainly NOT look MiG-29-ish when I am done with it!

Yup a lovely kit

I've got 3 - the real ones from the box + Norwegian - but I need another for Greek or one of the Baltic States. I just feel that Hurricanes would be more realistic exports then early Spitfires even if in reality Spitfires were ordered by many

quite a surprise today in the form of 2 Airfix startwer kits from Aldi's the BF109E-3 and the FW190A-8.
These 2 are the result of a conversation I had with parents over the weekend, and very unexpected. Dad said he was in Aldia today and picked them up for me....A decent end tp the day.

As part of my Christmas Presents (among the ever useful vouchers from M&S ) 2 kits

New tool Airfix 1/72 Lightning and Fw 190 F8  ;D Now I wasn't going to get the Lightning but it will now get built, probably in the NM scheme from the box as you have to build presents, don't you ?

The 190 F was interesting as this was the boxing I was after rather then the A8. Now neither of these kits was in WH Smiths in Croydon so where the young lady in question got them from is beyond me  On mentioning that it was the F8 I really wanted and how did she know, the reply was "well the man in the shop said you could build 2 models from it, so I thought it was better value". As I wish to enjoy the rest of Crimbo I hesitated and didn't ask the obvious question, "what do you mean exactly ; 2 kits ?"

The F8 will probably be Romanian and I will get an A8 as I have some of those lovely Freightdog RX4 missiles from Telford
