Yes , great ad , Stephen Hawking must have a great sense of humour, he's appeared in a couple of episodes of "The Big Bang Theory".

He appeared in Star Trek too, playing poker with Data, Newton and Einstein.  When  he was shown the engineering set of Enterprise, he is alleged to have  remarked "Just give me a few more years........."  There's even S/F writing where the  Dirac/Hawking drive makes an appearance.
