1/72 Space 1999 Eagle, Comet Miniatures Martian War Machine
1/72nd Quad Tilt Rotor, 1/144th V/STOL E2 Hawkeye (stalled)

Paul, is Unflown Wings worth getting if you've already got the two Soviet Secret Projects volumes and Soviet X-Planes?  From what I can find on the web, it seems like it.  Might treat myself to an early Christmas present....
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Green Dragon

Worth every penny Mossie! 640 pages of stuff I'd never seen before. I've got the Secret Projects books and they cover a tiny amount compared to this. Weighs a ton too! Got it as a late birthday pressie to myself and I'm dead chuffed with it.

Couple of Bookazines from Smiths

Aeroplane Monthly's Company Profile "Junkers". Excellent value

Flypast Special on the Wellington. Again excellent value and a good opening chapter on the Wellesley with a photo of the prototype landing being chased by the "bi-plane" version  ;D

Plus got a £5 off your next £15 purchase voucher. So I might get a couple of the new cutaway "bookazines" next week

The Red Effect, Harvey Black, download for my Kindle (it's available in Paperback too)

First part in a trilogy (although the third isn't released yet), it's the story of the Cold War turning hot in the early 80's, boiling over into conventional war.  I've read the first few chapters, pretty good so far.

Got, a couple of days ago, the new F-5 family book from the "Planes & Pilots" Series from France. Simple softcover, not an in-depth work (like all the books in this series), but it's very inspirational as any historic user of these aircraft is listed and many profiles show sample aircraft. Good value for money - only drawback is that you normally just get a single side view (so anything else would have to be guessed) and the printing colors might differ considerably from the real world. Sometimes you get color indications like FS codes, but many times you are left guessing or doing legwork at other sources.

Anyway, the books are highly recommended - also for whiffers who like different guises and markings on their aircraft models.

Captain Canada

I gotta start reading this thread a little more often !

The unflown Projects sounds like a must. I have to admit being 'lazy' ( or cheap ;-) when it comes to books.....I should really change my ways as I'm sure the inspiration alone would be worth the price.

I should really go get that Wellington mag as well....I bought one awhile back and could use the reference.
