Loadout done here too:

Bit more to the weaps on this one compared to the Rafale. From the wingtip inward, 4 x MICA, 1 x GBU-12 & 1 x AGM-65G, 2 x AGM-88, 2 x 600litre droptanks, 1 x Damocles targeting pod. Highly recommend Afterburner Decals sheets for the (American) weapons, very clear, great instructions and they go down superbly. Like the Rafale loadout, I still need to give this lot a light wash to pop-out the details.

Thanks for taking the time to look. All comments, questions and criticism are welcome as ever.

Your place has been a veritable backyard weapons factory for the last couple of weeks Ian!  ;D

The weapons for your F-2 and the Rafale look remarkably realistic, seriously impressive stuff.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Looking good  - I particularly like the dirty underside: just enough to be realistic without being over the top.

Can't disagree with that
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Bringing it all together now. Added the wingtip rails from the Rafale and their MICA's. Knocked-up a couple of extra aerials from bits of sprue and plastic-card (it's a SAAF 'Weasel', so it's bound to have some extra lumps and bumps, right ?).

This morning, I had a late start at work, so sprayed a third coat of white on the gear (and there's lots of it !!), so hopefully I can get it up on its' legs later this week.

Pics soon.

You know, on second thought, don't bother posting any more pics...you're just showing off, and making the rest of us look bad !

Undercarriage done, part-loadout tac-glued into place just to see how it 'sits'.

All looks 'right' to my eye. Need to finish the undercarriage, attach the fin permanently re-mask the windshield then shoot a couple of coats varnish. Will probably use a 70/30 satin-to-matt finish. Don't think there'll be any more progress pics.... won't be any pics of any sort for a couple of weeks as I'm off down to Wellington on Monday on a (residential) course. I'll be around until Monday morning so feel free to ask, comment or critique.

As ever, thanks for taking the time to look and/or comment. The support on this and the Rafale from you folks has been fantastic.

So, that's that, then. Really enjoyed every minute of this project - except for the couple of days when I thought I'd lost the windshield - great encouragement and participation from so many folks here, but special thanks to Steven Lewis, (FAR148) who selflessly responded to a small number of PM's throughout the process and, let's be honest, nailed the camo pattern when I just couldn't see where it had gone wrong.

Thanks Steven

And before anybody jumps-in, I know the exhaust isn't finished, but I've got an 'Alclad session' scheduled for later in the week !!  As ever, happy to take any questions, comments, suggestions and criticism. Next I'll be finishing the Rafale http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,36341.0.html and a 'real world' RF-4, before opening up either an F/A-18 or a Eurofighter  :o.
