What's the crossed keys (?) badge on the fuselage sides? It looks like a Vatican emblem.

It's a styllised version of 16Sqd's badge http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No._16_Squadron_RAF

It was awarded to me during a very old debate on this site to do with Eastern and Western Roman empires. I took the Byzantine side and was awarded the "Orthodox" headgear by the moderating team and it has stayed that way ever since. Comrade Lancer was awarded the Papal headgear
