One on each side ? Maybe an F-8 Crusader style pylon on the side ?

Dug this one out of the half-built stash. Figure while the Airfix kit is coming out there's no point in hanging on to any of these.....

This is how I found the box. No idea when it was started. Probably before '06 as that's when we moved. I love the box art and may do that scheme, only in RCAF service.

Forgot to mention all the major componenets are now together, closed up all the bays to make a flyer. Might add the Genies to it just to get a feel for how they will look....

Interesting.........

Yours has the gun pods mounted in the forward end of the under fuselage tank. Neither of the ones I have has them, just the tank itself. Looks like they modified the moulds at some stage.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

They did Kit, it surprised me as well when I found out about the modification as I was attempting to scratch build the gun pack at the time. The boxing that has the modified moulds in it is only the Grey/Grey artwork one.

Gondor's Modelling Rule Number Three: Everything will fit perfectly untill you apply glue...

I know it's in a book I have around here somewhere....

The M'box Lightning has them as well IIRC but it's not in the same class as the Hase version really.

I've got that Hase' Lightning too --- which is about in the stage of the build as yours Todd    It got parked in the 'Project' box when we moved too ---- I don't remember that particular boxing though --- Just looking at it I see I had decided not to go with the over-wing tanks as I've filled the holes in  -- hmm ! I wonder what the plan was ----

Decided on a scheme yet? What about a F.53, the Kuwaiti one has over wing Matras.
Colouring pixels is less messy than kit bashing.

Captain Canada

Not 100% sure about the final scheme yet. I'm just going to finish it and clear another from the half-built stash. RCAF tho, and maybe with Genies.

I like the idea of a Lightning armed with Genies Capt, suits a NORAD scenario
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

A good idea.  Arrows to the North, then a fast response squadron or two  of Lightnings to sort out the ones that  thought they'd got through.

Don't say too much against the Matchbox kit - it ain't bad for the money. O.K., it's got raised panel lines, but overall it is acceptable. The Hasegawa kit is not much "better", and rather overpriced. Hope for the new Airfix kit(s), they look promising!

BTW: a Lightning in all ADC grey with bright USAF markings should certainly look great! Worth a try, IMHO!

The new Airfix F-2A is really  nice and looks to be followed by a  F-6 next year

The layout of the parts suggest some 'short' tank options too ???
