Ok, booked up at the Park Inn, but it's pretty bloody pricey.

What was the hotel  we used to stay at that was right next to the train station? I think it was a Premier Inn wasn't it?

Premier Inns are getting to be silly prices these days, and all for purple paint!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Yup it is

Well my planning to be at Telford 2013 are progressing.
Booked in to a B&B out at Broseley

Having the Good Lady Wife in tow means there must be summut for her to do whilst I while my time away at the show and Ironbridge area fits the bill for the GLW.

Don't let her anywhere NEAR the Telford Shopping Centre! It could cost considerably more than even your highest expected model buying amounts!

Or if you do, make sure she has no money or cards on her.....if that is at all possible

;D Thanks for your concern folks... but I can assure that when you come to the UK from OZ.. she has shopping as a very low priority.. now any Stately home, gardens in the area look out!!.

We have done over most of Ironbridge before and Buildwas Abbey, Much Wenlock Priory .. but I reckon some more around Shrewsbury will be the go this time. Have car ? Will hurtle around D roads looking at stuff.
Thanks

The Wooksta!

Shrewsbury is a lovely little town, the little I've seen of it in daylight and boast one of the best curry houses in the country - the Ramna Balti House.

There's plenty to go at!  Madame Rheged and I often holiday in that area.  We suggest the following:-
Shrewsbury Abbey  and round the town (Suggest reading any of Ellis Peters "Brother Cadfael" 12th century monk detective: stories.)
Attingham Park near Shrewsbury   Stately home
Wroxeter    Roman town remains
Stokesay Castle  Fortified manor house.......very pretty
Go up the tower at Ludlow parish church.....incredible view.
Berrington Hall near Leominster (pronounced Lemster)
Hereford Cathedral and a rather good shop "Hereford Model Centre"

And that's just to the south and west of Telford.  I have no doubt that colleagues here assembled can add lots more suggestions.  For instance, there's Gloucester and the Forest of Dean(ask Kit)  or  east into Derbyshire (ask Radish)  or how about Scotland??(Gondor will have ideas)     Other equally knowledgeable  contributors exist, I've just taken 3 at random.

Give us  some place names and we will tell you (in the nicest possible way) exactly where to go and what to do.

Probably in one of the centre hotels going by how they were all sold out in December  :banghead: Absolutely no loyalty to their regular customers at all

Haven't heard any numbers yet.  Been talking with one of the US guys and he is still waiting for info from the UK guys.  Guess it is being set up for US and Canada and probably others.  Supposed to be a weeks worth of Museums and then Telford.

Have to admit, I am a bit excited.

Yup, Telford is a good base for a trip to England and Wales as it's fairly central and on the main motorway net. To far South for Scotland. Would of thought you'll be doing lots of car watching from coaches
