I've been struck down with the desire to build prop guns again so I can film them and use After Effects to make them shoot...
Some time ago I started to chop bits off a cheap toy assault rifle I picked up. It's grip is a nice size, but the gun was... blingy. I've cut away the magazine,. barrel, missile launcher(!) and stock. It will have some plates glued on to cover holes, but it's basically ready as a pistol now.
Behold! The Hitachi EP70M!

The second gun I started today, although I've been thinking about it for a long while. This one is based on a water pistol. About a year ago, a local $2 shop had some water pistols in stock, based on revolvers. They were unusually large (ie: life size!) so I grabbed many. This one had a double barrel(!), and is being... butchered.
And here's the rough layout of the Crumhorn and Smedley Hand Cannon!

The barrel is part of an elecric hair straightener. I think. I bought it at the op shop. The gun barrels have been replaced with plumbing parts to become the new magazines.
And now, some photos of a PVC pipe.

Followed by what the pipe is for.

There's plenty more to be done. I'll be replacing the hammer with something else, and I'm thinking of a big foam pad bellow the barrel.
There are no good kits, bad kits or grail kits, just kitbash fodder.

Pretty wild stuff ! The first one just looks like a typical star wars gun to me, but that second one is gonna be awesome !

I have to say, that you are a gun collector after my own heart!  What wonderfully...different pieces to collect!  I don't suppose you have a Mauser semi-auto pistol as well, do you?

All are non-firing replicas. All are of metal. The grips on the Volcanics and the shoulder stock on the Artillery Luger are wood. The rest have wood-looking plastic grips.

Volcanic .31 calibre 6 round pistol
LeMat .42 calibre 9 round pistol with 18 gauge scatter gun under barrel
                     Smith&Wesson .44 calibre " American "
Colt .36 calibre 1851 Navy pistol

Top to bottom: Walther 9mm P.38
Artillery Luger with 32 round snail drum and shoulder stock
                      Walther 6.35mm

Yes indeed!  But what a great collection - nice one!

As an idea though, how about a sci-fi'd up version of that super cool looking Volcanic pistol?

I've been thinking on that one. I just want to be sure as these cost $129.00 CDN so I don't want to mess it up. SWMBO would be severely pissed if I bought another one just for modification and then screwed it up.

And frankly, it would be a damn shame to take it apart and modify it!  What I was thinking of was making a mould from it, and casting a 'Volcanic' shape, which you could then play around with as you wish!
