CHAPTER IV

Hum... Thinking about it... it's true  (said Paul)

Excuse-me? (answered Karl)

Sorry, I was thinking about Dassault aircraft's...

... and???

Oh, so sorry Karl :-\ I was thinking about a book I was reading last night. It talks about the story of Dassault jet aircraft's, especially the Rafale

Well, to be honest, I am not that big fan of the Rafale. I do prefer the old style delta fighters such as the Mirage III

Ah ah... Did you know, that Mirage and Rafale share the same DNA code?

Realllly???"

I am not kidding ! The book says something like "under the skin of the Rafale, beats the heart of a Mirage"

A Rafale... heart of Mirage... It's a nice concept!

It is more than a concept, it exists... I saw it on what-if modelers ;)

Ohh, that's rather clever. I love it!

I must say, I do like the Rafale - it's far and away the most attractive of the current generation of fighters (prettier than the Typhoon, and the hideous spawn of LockMart just cannot compete. Sukhoi's big beasts are lovely, but the Rafale still comes out on top IMO). But you're right - there's something "right" about the Mirage III that hasn't really been repeated since... There was a great build a little while back of a Rafale all in BMF like an early Mirage III that was posted here.

Good stuff!
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

VERY VERY clever! Nearly too clever for me
I had to look back and forth many times between original and model photos before I understood :banghead:
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

bearmatt

Very nice! Makes me think of that Tanguy & Laverdure Retro style Rafale too.
Great job

Cheers

The carpet monster took it!

Hobbes

Very nice! Creating the masking must have taken forever...

PR19_Kit

Love it!

The 'air brakes' on the upper wings are pure Mirage.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

Thank's a lot pyro' ;) Not that easy to chose between the Sukhoi 27and the Rafale :-\ If I had to choose, I would take... the Berkut ;D

I do agree with the... "the thing" which is supposed to be a new version of the Lightning

Funny, I had nearly the same comment on a French forum

Not really. I used Maskol from Humbrol to create the "patch" :

It was not that difficult, finally (well... I'd rather say : "surprisingly" ;D)

So is the flag ...

Thank you very much for your nice comments <_<

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Totally agree - both in idea and execution.

Nicely done. The French flag is the final touch

It took me a lot of time to mask, paint, un/remask, paint, etc. Finally, I found the effect really cool

Mirage

Nice paint and nice idea, Sletchy !
But you already know it ! ;)

Cheers !

That is nice. You can imagine the silver mirage breaking out of the dull Rafale. Gotta agree that the Rafale is the epitome of Gallic "style" compared to its competitors which invariably look like they're made of slap-sided blocks of concrete. ;D
