LOL, patience is a strong suit of mine, I have a '32 Ford Highboy that I am patiently waiting to get spraypaint before starting, lol

This may be hard to believe...but now I can't find the damn Malcolm hood ! We have a kitten again, and the thing follows me into the hobby room daily, and I have no doubt that she was shelf hopping and knocked it off. I swept the floor in hopes of it turning up, but to no avail. You should see the wreckage down there these days. I mean, I love cats, but come on !

What I can do, is pack up the 3 pieces of the Academy canopy, along with one of the Airfix one-piece canopies, and you should be able to make something work out of that. I'll toss in the hood if it turns up as well. Sorry about this....

PM me your mailing addy and I'll get them on the go.

Hopefully the canopy will be in today and I can start back up again, work kinda stalled, lol.

Well, got the canopies, but the one that would have been perfect, got cracked and split during the shipping process, damnit. So, I am going with a Hellcat canopy which is too short length wise and placing it in the open position to hide it. Wish me luck!

Dammit....I thought I had a fool proof way to ship them ! Was it the stinking half-stick ( or should I say no-stick  :banghead: ) tape I used ? Sorry bro....

Nope, the tape was fine, it just got handled roughly in transit.I may have a solution but what is the best way to seriously bond clear parts together?

I've had some sucess using Future/Klear. They won't take much handling but it will hold.

Providing the canopies are sealed with varnish you could also try thin super glue. The varnish should prevent fogging.

Varnish? Also does Gloss or Dullcoat Spray Paint affect Clear Parts at all? Specifically Testors?

The Wooksta!

Don't varnish clear parts with anything other than Future/Klear.

Thank's Wooksta, after doing further research, I will talk to the boss about purchasing some (the boss in this case would be my father, as I am broke, lol)

You could emphasise its alternative use as floor polish............  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Thanks guys but I found that the second canopy works perfectly after trimming it down. Also used a bit of tube styrene to the exhausts and they look great! Pictures tomorrow.

Slight change in plans lads, going with a USAAF scheme used in North Africa with a twist. It will be a USAAF kite.

Now that's a neat idea  A much under represented period and theatre
