My suggestion would be that zombies have whatever attributes/weaknesses the plot demands!  Come up with a story and fit your zombies to it. :dalek:
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I posted these in another thread sometime ago, both are Wargame scales but should just about do for 1/48:

Games Workshop zombies for your undead type.  They do all sorts of related stuff, skeletons vampires, even zombie dragons:

Wargames Factory zombies for something a bit more Geroge A Romero!

Well seeing as I have "been there before"

So we fit our vehicle and make up a background for what happened to make the Outbreak begin and the time period we are working in. Makes sense as then we have a wide range for our wild little minds to wander about in.

for 40mm ( more 1:48 than the 1:56 ish scale wargames figs)  have a look here at the modern Zombies

The undead cheerleader is just too weird!
As I understand the show "The Walking Dead" the zombies are attracted to loud noises. This tends to make a gun fight an popular zombie gathering place. Could someone more familiar with the show answer the question are zombies attracted to bright colors or lights? This will make a difference in my fire truck build.

Familiar insomuch as watched series 1 and 2 and read a couple of the comic books.
Yes loud noises do attract the "geeks" but Lights I am not so sure in the TV "Walking Dead" world. For example (possible spoiler) when the group are at the farm house lights always seemed to be blazing away but not many geeks pushing down the fences.. given that the house is some way away from a main highway it sort of makes some sense.... however early in the show they go to lengths to keep their fires low so as not to attract the geeks..so there are two totally opposite examples.... same show.
Also there is a demonstration that smell is used as well, as live folks don't smell... well.... dead.

In the movie Land of the Dead.. fireworks are routinely used to distract zombies to move about Pittsburgh.

Use what ever you wish ;D

Captain Canada

Noise ?  Bad
Colour ?  Doesn't matter
Light ?  No bother
Odour ? You want to smell dead
Movement ? Bad

So remove the sirens and keep the lights. Sounds like a plan.

Small selection of 1/24th guns:

http://www.deansmarine.co.uk/shop/product_info.php/cPath/5_17/products_id/294

There's a shotgun, an M-16, an M-60 a 0.50cal and a Vickers in there. It's a naval modelling company, so there are also mounted guns up to 40mm:

If some of your guns are internal, then there are a large number of 1/24th scale brass barrels on the market to have poking out of your grill. For instance (there are many more):

1/24th kits that could donate weapons and parts:

Italeri Civvie pick-up with .50cal: http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/IT6352

So a set of "Caliope" Exhaust Pipes sticking out the hood is bad?
As for lights who wants to risk it unless you are trying to draw them away. Like say I have some fast and agile vehicle and open the 'Dump' exhaust pipes, turn on the lights & sirens and just tease them away from a place my friends are going to get stuff. After they are done I shut down to 'Silent Running' and run to rejoin them.
Or something like that.
And here are some 1:24 weapons that another member of What-If forum found.

The 1/16th option.

If your wallet can stretch to it, then some possible solutions to the guns/cars scale mismatch can be found in 1/16th scale, aka 120mm.

Cars:

Dodge Charger (Dukes of Hazzard): http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/MPC752-06
Dodge Charger with Mad Max style engine mods: http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/MPC768
VW Beetle: http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/RV7461
Golden Eagle Jeep: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Revell-JEEP-CJ-7-GOLDEN-EAGLE-1-16-model-car-kit-/330878831794?pt=UK_ToysGames_ModelKits_ModelKits_JN&hash=item4d09ea4cb2
Corvette: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/amt-ERTL-1978-Chevrolet-25th-Anniversary-Corvette-1-16-model-kit-car-/321073176304?pt=UK_ToysGames_ModelKits_ModelKits_JN&hash=item4ac173def0

There are more improbable/exotic options, but these have a nice 1970s feel....

Guns:

Reedees do a range of 1/16th guns. It's mostly WWII, but there's also an RPG-7, AKMs, and a PKM in there, and quite a few of the WWII rifles are rare automatic ones that look modern: https://sites.google.com/site/reedeesminiatures/gallery/1-16

Verlinden have done 120mm weapon sets, but there are none on ebay at the moment.

A company called New Order do a lot of modern weapons in 1/16th. I can't seem to find a web page for them, but here's a review and a link to a retailer: http://www.primeportal.net/new_order_models_weapons.htm  EDIT: looks like New Order might have gone bust.... :banghead:

New Order H&K MP5 series on ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-ORDER-MODEL-DESIGNS-120MM-RESIN-KIT-WS38-HK-MP5-SD-FAMILY-/281070556587?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item41711c55ab

Tamiya do a 1/16th modern US infantryman who can donate an M-16.
