Let's get to it then.
1) How many of you are in for this?
2) Something found in your city/ town/ village/ outpost/ borough?
3) Year long build/endless build?
4) Classifications? Yes/No?

I am IN.
I like the idea of 'Keep it simple stupid' and easily found.
I like ongoing. Newcomers might have something they built that fits!
I think 'Maybe' but a limit on it.

Here's a little inspiration for you, guys!

This was my 1st build when I came back to modelling in 2009 & was built for a Post Apocalytic theme build on Starship Modeler.

My idea of a Zombie Apocalypse Reconaissance Vehicle (actually Rage Virus Survivor Scout vehicle);

Many thanks to "buzzbomb", whose even better Rave Virus Survivor Scrounger vehicle inspired this build!

I wont be entering this theme build but I do have a BIG post apocalyptic dio planner for the future, some time.

I'm in. Let's keep it to stuff found on the streets. I think we all agree on that.
Ongoing is fine with me. That way anyone can jump in with a good idea.
My one question would be about scale. 1/24th is the most common for civilian vehicles while some civilian vehicles in 1/32nd would allow use of 1/35th assesories. Do we want to limit by scale or leave that open to the builder?

Let's take the "Band together to get through this" approach. So we need scout vehicles, heavy hitters, carriers, and vehicles to clear obstacles. Then we need to define what each of these classes require. But if you have something you've started on we'll fit it in.

If we take this idea far enough then do we want to use a common scale? Not that its likely to ever have all these builds in one place at one time.

I would suggest leaving the scale open to the modeller.

Mine (above & future) are in 1/35th, although I do have a couple of 1/32nd cars I'm also going to do in Post Apocalyptic mode.

I too agree scale should be left up to the individual. I can't build in the smaller scales than 1:25th due to all the scales shrinking.

That's fine with me. I'm torn between a couple of options in 1/24 and 1/32.
So to recap.
Scale is open to the builder,
Must be a vehicle found in civilian life on the streets of your city/ town/ village/ outpost/ borough?,
Open ended (we can always name an end date later),
The more variety to the vehicles the better. I see this group haveing no problem thinking up endless possibilities.
Was anyone thinking of catagories like OOB, kitbash and diorama like the contests?
Shall we begin?

Okay coolpop. So here's the questions.

Let's get to it then.
1) How many of you are in for this? (You already said yes. Are you sure?)
2) Something found in your city/ town/ village/ outpost/ borough?
3) Year long build/endless build?
4) Classifications? Yes/No?

I'm in.  I've got mine planning out.  I just can't believe how similar my original idea was to Old Wambats ,though !!!  Good thing mine is different in many ways.  I can't wait to get started on mine now !!!

As far as classification goes,I'm not sure if what we need isn't just land, water, air.  Since these are going to be something cobbled together by the locals. (That is what mine is,anyway).  Open ended sounds good to me,besides, it can always be ended when ideas run out or if popular enough, made a permanent on-going group build, due to interest ...    Scale wise,I feel you should go with what you like. I prefer 1/35 but for an aircraft any of the popular scales would do fine. Same for boats and ships, too. Build like you want.

Aircraft? Sounds like a challenge. Getting one, getting it off the ground and finding a place to land would be rough. Not drawing every Zombie in 25 miles is hard to. I won't even mention maintenance. But why not? Go for it!

Father Ennis

Can Zombies swim ?  Boats could be good ... ???   They had aircraft and helos in the Resident Evil movies ,so they are viable, right ?  I'll have to pass on the airplanes, myself ,but some form of boat or barge maybe ... ???
You know,it occurs to me that we should consider other time periods along with modern times.  Would be interesting to see something from the 18-19 centuries or perhaps from one of the wars you Europeans were so fond of during the Middle ages on ... ???  Witchcraft !!!   Witchcraft I tell you ... !!!!!!

kerick

Sounds like things are wide open! Works for me. Boats, trains, planes and automobiles. Now I have to go to the store again!
