OKAY FOLKS, I NEED SOME ADVICE.
I need to rust some metal tubing (Actually styrene) to look like old steel. I've always done it with paints I no longer can find and was never totally satisfied with my results anyway. Do you have techniques, materials or hints?

I prefer this method. Paint in a "rust" color and a metallic color.  How rusty you get depends on which you use first. You should use a wet-on-wet technique, also. Following with a black wash when dry. Graphite on highlights. Simple quick and effective. I use Testors paints, mostly enamels. Hope this is a help.

Thank you. On another site someone mentioned an "Instant Rust" 2 part kit that cost $7.00 for the two part kit at Michaels stores. I used to use the little 'flats' of four containers of paint in one plastic formed set that had fittings so you could put several together. But I can't find them anymore.

I've heard of others using thinned oils or watercolors but I've never tried it myself. This may be the time.

I have heard many good things about this "Insta-rust".  I haven't tried it myself but have friends who swear by it. I suggest you give it a try

For those in the UK who want some inspiration, this starts on Sunday BBC3 http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00szzcp
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

The survival guides may come in handy! ;D

Looks interesting, I'll pop that in the planner.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I'm wondering how hard it would be to model a 8 barrel 12gage shotgun that the barrels rotate 'Gatling gun' style? The barrels, breeches and locks could come from old singleshot breech loaders but the triggering device could be tricky as it will be vehicle mounted.
Any hints or clues?

Might be worth looking at wargames suppliers for some overscale weapons.  Games Workshop do several suitable items, not sure how compatible they would be with larger scales.  I'm sure somebody will be able to provide a link to other suppliers.

I wish they had some size or scale to work with on these sites.

Now I am waiting for the scavenged aircraft and boats (ships) to appear in here.

Watched this earlier in the week.  Not bad, did the well treaded zombie story from a different angle.

If anyones missed it, it's available on iPlayer for a few more weeks, just click Chris's link.

I've had my youngest son here all week on Spring(?) Break so no chance to work on the Zombie Bird. Is anyone else making progress?

My pick-up is on the slow burner for the moment, while real life throws spanner after spanner in the works. :-\
Oh well, I'll get back behind the bench when it's time again, like always.
