Scale is open to the builder,
Must be a vehicle found in civilian life on the streets of your city/ town/ village/ outpost/ borough. And that includes nearby aircraft and water craft.
Open ended (we can always name an end date later),
The more variety to the vehicles the better. I see this group having no problem thinking up endless possibilities.
Was anyone thinking of categories like OOB, kitbash and diorama like the contests?

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Knowing me it will be between Rule 7 and Rule 8!  :-\

Rule 6 ? Doesn't rule 5 clearly stipulate that there will be no rule 6 ? Or was that already a rule 6 rule ?

Rule 5-B, Section 4 says "The only time there will be a Rule 6 is if the Moderator imbibes to much of his favored nectar and//or there is a Full Moon during the conjunction of Saturn and Aquarius on Friday the 13th".

Looks like a plan to me.

Just what did you have in mind when you say categories ?  Would this be before or after your build is etered ?  I think it might be excessive but a good way to see what entries we have ,I.e. 4- watercraft ; 5- trucks ; 3- cars, etc. Rest to just view what you want but really cake icing. OOB,etc. is a contest standard but I'm not sure how to apply it here.

I can accept the rules as given but I would like to see the range extended slightly to include some military vehicles, aircraft, etc.

For example; my build is Tamiya's SAS Pink Panther Land Rover. I think some vehicles like Humvees, 4x4/6x6/8x8/etc. trucks & the like should be allowed, along with some military cargo & observation planes, & possibly boats like the PBR.

True, many of these have civil counterparts &, in some places, you see the real thing in civil hands quite frequently but not everywhere. So, to make it a little fairer I would allow the above military equipment but would stipulate absolutely no purpose-build armoured vehicles, no fighter or attack aircraft & no warships (eg: anything bigger than a launch or cutter).

Well that makes perfect sense as far as "...the range extended slightly to include some military vehicles, aircraft, etc.".
What say you all?

Let's define "...you can find on the street".
I know if things went to heck I could probably get into the local National Guard Armory parking area and walk off with anything from a 2 &1/2 ton truck to an M-113 armored personnel carrier to a Hummer using a pair of heavy bolt cutters. Getting hold of heavy weapons (ie; .50 caliber M-2 machineguns, grenades and rocket launchers) would take a lot of effort or some sterling luck. Think 'Golden Horseshoe stuck in your pocket!'
All that armor available locally in parks and monuments? "Get out the oxyacetylene set boys & girls. There be armor plate on that steam locomotive"! :roflmao: Empty shells of engines, (if any at all!), gun barrels full of concrete and I-beam anchors welded to the hull and set in concrete and hatches welded shut are just a few of the problems. Not to say after the solid waste material hits the rotating air movement device you wont be finding discarded or abandoned military and police weapons.

So let's just be somewhat reasonable. No M-1A1 Abrams, battleships or B-52s full of nukes sitting around loose!

Sounds good. There will always be somebody around to drive a military vehicle. I know I'd go scrounging around armouries etc. when the zombie apocalypse starts !

Sort of agree with Go4fun.. some military vehicles are very adaptable and would perhaps be readily available.
Lets look at this this way.. if the military was involved in the initial "contain" phase and were then overrun then stuff would most definitely be lying around and free for the taking and there fore... "on the street"

What I reckon you would have would be more on the B vehicles/Trucks/Tankers/HEMMT and perhaps Wheeled APC/ AFV such as Stryker/LAV/Fuchs type Vehicles. Stuff that can get to places on roads where the authorities are using places such as schools/sports grounds as evacuation/relief centres.

More so  I have a  vested interest in this ;) ;).. co-incidently (without seeing this thread) last weekend, I started a Post apocolyptic/Zombie Vehicle based on the German Fuchs, using the above reasoning as to why it could be utilized and modifed by "survivors"
