AFAIK Mach 2 never did the Mk 2, either as part of their original Valiant kit or subsequently. I think the only Mk 2 available was the Contrail/Sutcliffe vacform and I've not seen one of those for ages.

That's one conversion I'd have thought the resin moulding community would have jumped at, but not soi far.

That rings a bell with me too. The fuselage is about the right diameter to make the extensions for the B2 and the Kuchmann carrots would be a good basis for the landing gear pods as well as using the Victor's bogie landing gear.

What the devil do you do with all the left-over Victor bits though? It'd make for a VERY short fuselage!!

The Wooksta!

No, Contrail did two Valiants - a standard B1 and the later B2. Both were subsequently released by Aircraft in Miniature in better and thicker plastic than Contrail and with the added bonus of white metal bits.  However, try finding the B2 kit now.

Mach Poo only ever did the Valiant B1 - badly.

The Wooksta!

I sold mine on for what I paid for it, which IIRC was about 25 notes.  It went to General Melchett, so I know it's going to get built.

There's a thread somewhere on Britmodeller with someone converting either an Airfix or Mach Poo kit, probably the latter, to a B-2.  IIRC the pods containing the u/c nacelles are a squared off cone,so Victor Kuchmann Carrots wouldn't be much use.

I'd advise going for an inflight model, if only for ease of build.  And getting the Two Mikes resin intakes will also help.

The serials were allocated for a production rub of 17 B2s but when these were cancelled, the codes were re-allocated to new build B1s.

I've got both the B.1 and B.2 Aircraft in Miniature Valiant kits (vacuformed).  The trailing edge u/c fairing is as Lee says, kinda boxy and is much bigger than the Kuchmann fairings.  The B.2 forward fuselage is a bit longer than the B.1's which should be an easy conversion.  For the u/c fairings, the Tu.95 ones are actually quite close, as are the u/c themselves.

But until an injection kit of the B.2 comes along, it's staying buried at the bottom of my stash ---  ;D
