Sticky Fingers Machinen Krieger pilot with possibly the most life like face I`ve seen on here for some time.

Hey Dizzy.

Know where you are going here but a model of Capt. Kirk would qualify as a what if even if it was an attempt to model Shatner as the character just like a model of NCC 1701 is also a whiff.  Course, a Constellation Class starship in RAF markings is more of a whiff but both would qualify.

I say leave it for now.  We get so few figures that we haven't had the class in the last 2 Whiffies (that includes the upcoming one) and I would love to see the class return, and dioramas too.

Hi Phil,

thanks for chiming in and clearing things up. I feel honored, anyway, so we leave the dark Rei as it is.

Where can I find a list of the categories?
(I've been looking but maybe missed something obvious...)

Hi perttime,
The categories as they stand at the moment are,

Best Helicopter

Best Alternate Markings

Best Camouflage

HOG Memorial Award for most original build

Best Jet

Best Prop (includes biplanes)

Best Armor

Best Scratchbuild

Best Kitbash

Best Sci-Fi

Best Ship

Best Miscellaneous (combining Diorama, Auto, Figure and Backstory)

Best Artist (combining Profiler and Imager)

Hope that helps everyone.

There needs to be nominations for Dizzyfugu.
I find choosing categories for Dizzyfugu a little difficult because his posts are complete packages of modeling (often kitbashed), photography, and back story.

So far, in 2013, my favorite is his "VMT Salama I":

Best Prop
Best Artist
(this one is apparently not highly kitbashed)

how does the nominations work?
As I understood it, you just propose some work that you find outstanding.
Include information about who and what, a picture, a link to the thread, and category (or categories) that apply.

What he said  ;D

Also, the categories can be expanded if there are enough nominations.  The first few years we had autos, dioramas, figures, etc on their own.  However, the last 2 years there weren't enough nominated builds so they were combined (ideally there should be at least 5 nominations per category, I based this off the Oscars).

Yes, that's well deserved. Lovely (and wacky!) piece.

And many thanks for the nomination of my Kodiak!

Ian the Kiwi Herder

Don't feel comfortable doing this, but I know how hard I worked on these two:

My Greek AF Rafale & Mitsubishi/IAI/Atlas F-2+ for the Best Jet:

And the Rafale alone for Best Camouflage:

Well Ian , I'll just say this, if you think its wrong then I'll be happy to offer them. I think them well worth the nomination. Besides, since I don't own a real computer and can't post, let us just say you did it in my behalf.  Excellent work !!!
