That does look good  Could easily slide into a "Secret Projects" book once in overall primer grey
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Really, really good!  I'd have been tempted to go for a taller fin/rudder rather than a fin fillet had I been building this but that is merely a personal preference not a criticism.  Where did you get the props and spinners from, please?

Colour scheme?   I'd go for the Extra Dark Sea Grey/Dark Slate Grey/PRU Blue scheme as worn by Halifax C.VIIIs at the end of the war.  And whatever roundels you like (Europe/SEAC/Pacific).

A "stealth" Stirling ? Lol!
Apreciate all the kind comments folks. Still haven't decided on a colour scheme yet but, I'm tending to lean a bit more to a Coastal Command DSG/EDSG/White finish. Depends on how good I get the final surface finish though. I normally avoid large areas of white!! I do have an awfully nice shark mouth left over from a PB4-Y Privateer. I reckon it might look nice on the Stirling. I'm sure I could adapt it to fit........................................!!!!! :-\

I had considered 3 options ;

The original tailfin + fillet combination
A taller / wider tail fin ( I had in mind using a C-130 tailplane)
An "H" tail similar to the Halifax or Lancaster - I would have used the fins/tailplanes salvaged from a wrecked JU-290

I opted for the path of least resistance ( a k a - least effort!!)

Thank you for the  colour scheme suggestion by the way. That one never occurred to me. In fact, I definitely like it!! :thumbsup:The props/spinners were raided from my stash of 3 Revell Halifaxes as were the 2 upper gun turrets. I'm sort ot toying with idea of building one of the Halifaxes with the Flightpath Merlin 85 engines but, that's for another day!!

Sharkmouth?  Yes!  If a Harrow can have one (http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e263/edgardogil/Aviation/HandleyPageHarrowMkIINo420flightNov.jpg), and the Revell Privateer of course, then why not?

Looks good !! Now, if only there was a kit of the H P Harrow to go with it!!!

That looks SO right!

You almost don't notice the extra engines as the proportions of the new wing are spot-on, and the dual top turrets look the business!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

Contrial once did one in 1/72 - see http://airfixtributeforum.myfastforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=172&t=10167&sid=8cc6efbc6785dbb9bbf2ac1bff2d055f.

Thanks for the info. Didn't know about that one. Pity it's a vacform. Never particularly liked them but, needs must from time to time! I do have "fond" memories of tackling the Rareplanes Vulcan though!! And that was one of the better ones........................!!!!! My memories of Contrail are not very good!
