i look forward to seeing these progress, heres hoping you go with the single faired strut arrangement as used on the Mk.V and IX and intended for use on the Mk.21 and Attacker too. wind tunnel and wavetank trials found the multi strut arrangement as designed for the (built but unflown) Mk.1 and intended for the Mk.III created exessive drag on the airframe

Don't bother, if they were really intending to get the last knot out of aircraft the panel lines would have been filled and smoothed.

It also means you don't have to 'pre-shade'  them either...............
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

welcome to the fold

made a spit MK5 with floats some time back i agree with above single strut looks good
Remember, if the reality police ask you haven't seen us in ages!
When does "old enough to know better" kick in?

Is this working? Good, just checked. Hope this pleases. Agree with the filled panel lines a la Mustang. Kawanishi floats look gorgeous, might use the plane as a Kamikaze Mistel combo later....

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

nice, i was thinking military usage re the twin units but the single main float looks good as a specially prepared racer

Wellcome and yes it is a pain but once you get there, it seems so easy  :banghead: :banghead:
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

The color scheme looks right!

What are you doing about the canopy? Something lower than usual would go well with the Schneider theme.

Retractable floats, or at least outriggers, would be cool....

Like the strut arrangement.

Got to confirm that. I also have one or two floatplane projects in my stash (including a Gladiator), this is inspiring and very elegant.

I must admit in the older days I would certainly have made the canopy a lot smaller (RareBear style). Retractable floats would be uber-cool but alas time and finances are soooo tight. Here she is...haven't varnished yet as to be honest I might militarize her as part of a long term alternate history project I've been planning.

and from the rear:

I've put the Spiteful on hold for awhile as necessary parts comprise kits that I can't spare moolah for. Already been adulterous with something else....
