Tonight I attended a talk by fellow forum member Damian Burke. It was held at Sywell aerodrome, about 3 miles from my home.
Daft thing is if I hadnt been tipped off by Mike McEvoy, I wouldnt have known it was happening.
Once mike had tipped me off, I contacted Damian via this site's pm system offering to put on a small TSR-2/British projects display. He took up the offer and the results can be seen here.

This was organised in around two weeks, with Chris Payne loaning me his antiflash F-111K, Thorvic supplied 3 TSR's and his FD-4. I also raided the SIG's display at the Midland Air Museum for 5 more of my ow TSR's another F-111K from Richard Brooker, Thorvics Hawker Siddley P1125 & P1216. And three models from Gary Marshall. Mike McEvoy also provided 3 more TSR's.
Considering it was organised in ahurry, It was a grand display that attracted a lot of interest ;D

If Damian is booked to do the talk near you, Go. Its informative and is delivered in a light hearted manner, that keeps you interested from start to finish.
I always hope for the best.

Definately an awesome collection of British Whiffery !

And it would be interesting to hear what the man had to say. I wonder if it's transcribed anywhere ?

It was Damian's first ever talk, so I doubt it yet.
The event hosts, Sywell Museum. Put out around a hundred chairs not expecting to fill them.   They ended up putting out at least another 12! I spotted one other modeler that I knew (from greater Peterbrough model club)

dont spose you taped it?
A transcript, or even a copy of the gentleman's lecture notes, would be fascinating!

It  means that you read  the instruction sheet

When and where is the next one?

The Milton Keynes Aviation club perhaps? Mike McEvoy is a regular there too. That sounds WELL worth attending, no matter where it is.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Thanks to Martin for organising the model display and to those who contribute models to it

The talk appeared to go down well and made the Museum a good amount.

Next talk? I don't know - I've been away a lot recently and haven't got back in touch with the three organisations who were interested in booking me (MK among them), but I'll post when I know.

Well I for one want to hear your talk - missed the last one for various reasons...
