June 2nd 2013 - Northern Model Show

just seen the new venue for this show and i for one have grave resivations about it.

Northumbria University, Domain (1st Floor), Student Union Building, 2 Sandyford Road, Newcastle, NE1 8SB

now this venue although it near the city center has very little if any free parking so most people will have to use either one of the two parking places which still charge for sundays around £ 12 up to 12 hours from ncp website or in the haymarket again costing around £10 per day and a 200 yard+ walk into the building as show here the show is in building 31

You're wrong. There's oodles of free parking behind the college itself - being June, all the tax dodging workshy fops will be at Mummy and Daddy's. It's around building 6.

Quite a few of the guys from the club have reservations but it's been looked into.

one other problem the misses brought up is what she thinks will be the almost total lack of none modelers footfall in that area as you say the students will be gone so most of that area will be a ghost town especially on a sunday

I'm up North, however there's a Christening I have to go to that day. Depends what time the Christening is. Hopefully I can get there for a couple of hours

Perhaps but is a damn sight easier to get to if you're using public transport. Temple Park was an absolute arseache to get to.

Sunday is quite busy in Newcastle.

Agree with both. I was quite lucky as my family live about 30mins walk across the fields from Temple Park. However the one year I wasn't staying with them it was an absolute pain to get to from my hotel in Newcastle

Set up for club members (ie Tyneside) is 6 pm saturday night.

I was in Newcastle yesterday so I dry ran the walk from the Metro. Firstly the postcode is probably 1/2 mile away from the venue when using Google Maps, it's the business school location. If a nice man hadn't been going to the Students Union I'd have spent hours walking around. Once found then as far as I can see you might have fun shifting stuff from car to venue as the Student Union building is in the centre of a pedestrian quad. Hope I'm wrong on that one.
