Very simple kit, nice build, but £60......No  :-\
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .

There's always lots of interest in the Pancake, I'm surprised they don't just re-pop it, it's quite a simple kit, and not that bad to build either.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Largely because Kitty Hawk has "gone out of business", folded into some other Chinese model manufacturer I believe, but they don't seem to be rushing to re-pop any of KH's kits.

Quote from: Spey_Phantom on June 03, 2021, 12:22:16 PMi bumped this topic to bring you some bad news :(

i few hours ago, Kitty Hawk posted a message on facebook, allong with Panda Models, that they are closing down.

no details are known about the reason, but i did hear the company has been in financial problems for a while now.

This may, possibly, be because they were on the rather chunky side, using more styrene than necessary for what they were (not always a bad thing for we whiffers), & the fit was often not spectacular.

Looking at the Jag GR.1/GR.3 & the Jas-39A/C in the Model Room chapter of the Wombat Stash, they are both made with considerably thinner styrene than I remember the F9F-8 Cougar, that I built some time ago, being, but are still a touch thicker than a couple of my (close at hand) Special Hobby kits.

Thicker plastic means more leeway for sanding down kit bash joints!

i remember the Panda 1/144 B-1 Lancer being quite chunky and thick, the wings were warped and detail and panellines were in most cases absent.

It's one of the reasons I'm going to hack up my F-35B...even test fitting it dry the result was not very pleasant 😒
Perfect for me to Viggenise it

KittyHawk kits were are (supposedly) going to be reboxed by Zimi models but no new boxings have been announced so far.
I've bought a few of the KH kits that i actually thought i'd never seen selling on stores since they closed but i recently bought the JAS-39C and UH-1Y on one of several EU shops that have had them in stock in the past months but, availability seems to be uncertain and not all of their kits have been available.

"Viggenize" it into something that looks like the Lockheed canard delta that eventually led to the F-35?
