Looks great! You have to make at least the edges all rusty.

After priming the framework I will have to paint some of the pipes and bars different colors as if they may have come from different sources. and of course some flat silver on all the joints to simulate welds.

Dry brush some gunmetal over the silver. Welds are usually dark to almost black. Then there is the black, sooty, "burnt" area beyond the actual weld. Pain in the neck.

So the first coat of paint and the face of the plow cut out and painted.

A little work on the 'welded' joints and few of the individual parts painted diferent colors and the framework will be done.

That" bad boy" is coming right along.  I wonder what has happened to the other entries ???  I know where mine is. Still sitting in a.box waiting for me to.strip some paint and begin work on it ... !!!  One of these days ...  Too.hot to get out now anyway.

First I was out of work now working six days a week! Never rains til it pours...
I'll try to sneak in a little building tomorrow if I get into the basement and hide so the wife can't find me!

So seeing as this is built with scronged parts in a building you know there would be different colored pieces. So I attacked that problem and how to make it look like it was welded in places.

I think I got it "Good Nuff'' seeing as it will be covered with a metal 'skin' on the front.

that is a great choice of colours and nicely represents the type of material that can be found.

Nice collection of different colors. Does anyone have a good color for galvanized steel? Silver doesn't work.

Don't know any specific colour that covers it but the zinc coating is oxidised & is, therefore, actually, a very light grey.
So, you might try using a light grey &, possibly, adding white & just a touch of silver to get the right tone.

Maybe a bit of pale matt grey to the palest shade of metallic you have, just to dull off some of that metal finish but not get rid of it completley.  Alternatively, hit the metallic with matt varnish, I've used that before to suggest weathered metal.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

The really tough part about galvanized steel is the pattern that shows up, especially on larger pieces.
I'll try your suggestions and see what happens.

I know what you mean it's almost a spangled look, very difficult to replicate.

You could say it's Electro Zinc sheet rather then traditional hot dipped. You don't get anything like that pattern. And yes a very light grey for either type of galv
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

To get the galv look you might try slightly different shades (a little more white, a bit more grey, a touch more silver) &, using a not-too-dense shaggy brush, stipple the colours on. Then, using very, very, very fine sandpaper, sand the finish down smooth.

It might work. :-\
