28 Months later.. it is worse.
Government has mostly broken down and us survivors use what we can find.
Out here in the fields.. we find and modify vehicles and supplies to suit our needs.
For longer range scrounging missions vehicles with a bit more grunt are needed so any practical military vehicles have been modified to assist
this type of mission. But it is not only the Rage Virus "zombies" but other groups who we must defend ourselves against.

So.. what if... we found a Fuchs, great six wheel drive vehicle, pretty good fuel economy and more practical that some Military Vehicles.
Using a pre-loved Fuchs, which I had already scratch built the cab, time to modify it into a long range Scrounger Vehicle

Firstly... remove lid ;D

Pix removed.. now irrelevant
Insert new rear compartment detail
Pix removed.. now irrelevant
I plan to raise the rear compartment a bit, with roller shutters to allow necessary fire support or ventilation.
Onto other necessary items.. such as the ubiquitous Zombie Plow. ;D

This promises to be interesting.  ;)
If your cutting open the top can you use that armor elsewhere? Like in "the ubiquitous Zombie Plow"?

Just put some wheels back on and it will look like it was ressurected from a junkyard as is. Interesting concept, carry on!

Man, I'm liking how this has started! I'm inspired again, already, Brian! (By you & the others.)

And here's me almost 4300 km from my stash & tools! :banghead:

Oh, well, we'll see how I go in June/July. :-\

So, I got the Fuchs out and started on a Zombie plow, looked at it, glanced at the stash...... and binned the Fuchs for this build.
I got to thinking of why go to the bother of doing a major modification of a vehicle where there is stuff just...you know.. around.
I spied a likely candidate in the stash the Showcase 1/35 Aussie Bushmaster
It has everything you could ask for, armoured, boxy, plenty of room, packing ordanance, off road capability, available.

As it stands ith the plow I built for the Fuchs for test fitting/lookings.

With start of stores cache after ripping out seats that, just take up valuable scrounging storage space.

Got through this in the course of the weekend to basic build level,  now the local mods and addons commence  Bwahahahaha

Ah, now this is better!

Although I liked it & it inspired me (Dammit!), the Fuchs build was looking a bit too similar to the LAV build.

This one is different & Aussie! This is a GOOD thing, mate! ;D

Ehhh... you could always build both. But I like your new build and can't wait to see progress.

Small progress made so a couple more pix
Pretty much finished the interior, perhaps a bit more stuff to go in but not much

Got the Zombie Plow underway, with mounting points and also a mesh screen, even though this vehicle has an armoured windscreen, cannot have too much anti zombie protection

Back in the Game.

So some more work on the Bushmaster Zombie Scrounger.
Added some local Zombie guards to keep the mess out of the wheel wells

It is undercoated now so next comes the painting.. starting with the original three tone Aussie cam.

Always a good idea. Where did you get the screen mesh?

Thanks Folks

Kerick the mesh is just standard KS Products Brass mesh.

The good thing about a rainy weekend is that you get lots done
I have done the preliminary painting on the ZombieMaster.
I am looking to try and get the faded.. wornish type look.. not quite there yet.
Thought of a few more things I should have done as well to make it look more "field Expedient" .. but maybe too late.

Next is to store it up with all the bits and bobs. The Final weathering and move onto weapon up.
Oh and find a spare wheel or two that is not in a pristine cover.. as if

So a bit of a way to go

kerick

Spare tires is always a good thing to have with you in the outlands! Love the look of this. The weathering on the plow makes it look nicely beat up. The wheel guards would definitely take a beating.
