difficult to assemble due to the chilly weather and the number of open areas to be traversed.

This is the phrase that scares the bejabbers out of me  ;D

Concur!!  I too initially read  that statement as referring to exposed portions of the corpus  delicti  in question.

take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.

Me, I'm dishonest, and you can always trust a dishonest man to be dishonest.
Honestly, it's the honest ones you have to watch out for!!!

yer know the saddest thing about this show was the chap who really upset our PR_19kit with some less than nice
remarks about his famed meteor PR19. can't say i've ever heard anyone be like that before about a model.

i'll let kit say what happened here as he got a bit annoyed.

otherwise it was a really good show as usual and there was an excellent turn out of SIG members.

Annoyed? ANNOYED? Who, me?

Well I was somewhat yes, this berk had the gall to remark 'Who's spoilt that Meteor then?' Ruddy nerve!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

He's not worth your ire, Kit!  Those  individuals of taste and discernment who  frequent this forum are united in their admiration of your work.  Relax with a cup of tea whilst the rest of us plot either taxidermy  or imminent cremation as his  reward for such a crass remark.

I'm SO glad I'm on the same side as you guys!  ;D

Thanks for the plotting and scheming, but my drinkS of choice are coffee, Bovril or Ovaltine thanks. I'd had my entire life's ration of tea by the time I was 18!

Don't get mad, get even: never wind up the innocent or the puzzled, but once they've been offensive, they're fair game. Explain to them with a straight face that's it's a real aircraft, give them the full backstory (and remember, the PR.19 one is good and stands up to quite a bit of scrutiny) and let them wander off scratching their heads. Any arguments: "I should know mate I used to bloody fly them..."

You and me both Kit, while as an apprentice one of my early duties at the shop I worked at was to make the tea ---- my first attempt at making an urn of tea drew the ire of the other guys and was smartly shown 'how to make a cup of tea'.  I've been put-off tea forever ----- and that was 45 odd years ago ----

Some nice models on display there though

As I have pointed out many times in the past, you are having fun, while your detractors are clearly not.  And you have given much joy with your models, which the detractors clearly do not wish to do>  The definition of the 'joyless' in JMN.

The oposite to that is when an old guy tells you that he flew your creation ?? Happened to Martin at a show. I think it was his Sea Lysander with folded wings. It was quite high up and this nice old guy (I'm a young 61 ) was telling us how he'd flown them. We both just smiled and thanked him nicely for his comments. We can only assume he thought it was a Swordfish ? Still no harm dome and whatever, it had obviously brought him back some fond memories.

Doesn't matter what you build - whif or otherwise - it's all rather rude slagging off someone else's work. If you like it, praise it.  If you don't then don't speak.  :-X
