From what I recall, when the He129 fired It's 75mm gun,the aircraft actually flew backwards due to the massive recoil... !!!   Just think about the 88mm firing with even greater recoil !!!   This could be a very fun and interesting plane to fly ...

so firing the gun knocked 150 kts minimum off the airspeed? no chance lol

Out of curiosity, do you know why he left the swazi off the tail?

Just like me, we do not think that this political symbol needs ANY presence, esp. on a model kit.

its only political if you make it.

it was a marking that was on the plane if you want to leave it off thats fine but theres certainly nothing wrong with putting it on imho

A different attitude obtains in Germany and we who don't live there should honour that opinion if they decide to build their models in such fashion.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

The swastike is - in German context - ALWAYS a political statement. Even on a model kit, unfortunately. Many Germans are VERY conscious about their political history, and that's a topic not to wade in much deeper. But cosplay with SS uniforms as it is common in UK during WWII festivals would have you end up here in jail, or at least on a police station. To many Germans it is simply VERY bad taste, be it "realistic" or not.

You will normally also be banned when you post a model with swastika markings in a forum - even if it is without any political intention. And you will have at least to cover them when you display a model in public, e. g. during a convention. That's not uber-reaction, we are just very aware of the heritage of this symbolism, and its permanent abuse for single-minded attitudes and convictions, which still linger under the surface. Therefore, the swastika is banned from public use in Germany, IMHO righteously.

Touchy subject, but I personally see no loss when the swastika is simply left away on German WWII models.

Captain Canada

Looks good. Love the camo pattern and colour. My only complaint would be the cockpit : looks great with the bubble, but the seat needs to be higher and /or add some 'junk' behind the seat, otherwise it just kinda looks plopped on there....

CANADA KICKS arse !!!!

Personally, I do not feel offended by swastika on German aircraft, esp. when this is kept in an authentic manner - pls. do not get me wrong, since I will not tell anyone NOT to use them. But in many cases I get the impression that these markings receive an unhealthy and also unreflected attention they do not deserve (esp. in/from the US, that's my impression) - it's pretty strange.

Personally, I find the Nazi Cylon Raider here in the forum pretty "cheap" and tasteless, but that's me, and I won't start an argument about it.  ;)

Completely understand your point about the Swastika and it`s implications in Germany today Dizzy and that`s a fair enough view.

Could I just point out though that your comment above could be construed as being a tad rude about another forum members work. I`m pretty sure it was not created or meant to offend anybody in particular.  ;)

What's the situation with building a Finnish model using their swatikas in Germany Thomas? Are they banned too or is that a different situation because the colours themselves are changed?

The Wooksta!

IIRC it's a blanket ban on any swastikas.
