Okay, so I was bought a Vought F-8 Crusader the other day by my father, I wanted to do a Whiff IAC version with the French missiles and bombs, but I learned that the IAC Decals I need won't be released till later this year, *sighs*. So I come to you, my brethren of Whiffery, to help me choose a new idea, I am open to all suggestions, let's hear them!

For those of you who are decent artists in the digital medias you can present your ideas using this image, graciously provided by my good friend Darth Panda, if you don't already have a template.

I've always liked the NATO 3-color scheme that the Tulsa Air Guard used to fly in the 80's. They flew over our house all the time. Noisy buggers, too !!!  They always flew too low over where we lived. Looked a lot better than the more often seen on Navy birds at the time.

Captain Canada

I'll have to check that 3-tone out ! Sounds interesting....

If that's the A-7D lizard scheme Father Ennis is referring to then I heartily agree. Would look great on an f-8 .

If you want a set of IAC roundels, send me a PM. I have lots!
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

I figured after I started googling that he was talking about the Corsair and not the Crusader. Either way, both beautiful birds !

Maybe it's this one?

Wasn't this one SEA scheme?  Lizard would have gunship grey and a dark green.
FS34102, FS34092, FS36081 It was also known as European I.
Either one would be unique on a Crusader.

Jorel has hit the nail on the head. That .is indeed the scheme I ment.  I saw a whole flight of A-10s at Tulsa international one day taxising around the airport, all were in the then standard "Lizard scheme" it was very impressive !!!  But not at all like the ground attack scheme on the Crusaders. The A-10s were all in shades of green.  Personally,I love both schemes.

Ennis, dearest brother, you are referring to the Vought A-7 Corsair. The F-8 Crusader was USN/USMC, Philippine AF, and French Navy.

A7's were used by the local Air Guard unit.
