Right chaps, opinions wanted. While the props clear the ground, they do not clear each other....  :banghead:

So..., I`m kind of thinking that is it possible that this aircraft could be given some kind of `disrupter` gear, a bit like what the Chinook uses so the blades do not hit each other as they spin.

Or is that too far `out there`?

the simple way would be to mount the inboard ones a little further way out from the wing,  using a complcated mechanical system would be a ticket to shred, especialy if you had to feather one set due to battle damage.
the things you learn, give your mind the wings to fly, and the chains to hold yourself steady
take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.
wow, its like freefalling into the Geofront

As Gondor said, move the inner engines (or radiators, as I explained earlier) forward a few MM.  The props are on extension shafts anyway, a few cms forward isn't going to make that much difference.

One other thing - how do the crew get in?  The He 177 had a hatch under the nose and you've dropped that by a good few feet.

That is an excellent point and one I hadn`t thought about.

I was hopeing to `get away with it` as I have not got anything round or the right size to extend the inner engines in the stash.  :banghead:

Your right about the height issue and I have actually extended (raised) the u/c legs so now the hatch will fit. Picture update soon

So, to overcome the problem of the props avoiding eachother I went for the longer inner engine nacelles. Dwelving into the spares box I came out with a couple of 1/48 scale F-14 burner cans and a couple of 1/72 scale B-17 exhaust rings.

A little of the old tc magic and I came out with this....,

Ok, they aren`t pretty, but it`s the best I could do with what I had to play with.

Here`s where I am now overall and you will note that I have also raised the main u/c as that was a bit too low as well. I`m getting there.

Cheers H.

I`m thinking overall black with greyish `swiggles` on the top sides, but always open to ideas. ;)

I'd go for a low viz scheme, given that you'll be flying over the Atlantic so you can hide in the clouds.  Failing that, an over water scheme.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I did consider a low vis or water scheme, but the story I had in mind was night attacks. Admittedly the air defenses would be a bit more advanced, but I thought the black scheme would add to any German countermeasures.
