Long time, no see. Well, I'm back, and I've got another idea for a future project.
I have had a fascination with stealth aircraft and technology ever since the first stealth fighter crashed back in 1986 near Bakersfield California when a high school friend gave me a newspaper clipping of the story.
I want to create a special display/diorama showcasing all the stealth vehicles that have ever been tested, flown, etc.  To do so means I'll need models that are small and most likely 1/144 scale. Are there any models of the following anywhere in 1/144 scale?
* U-2/TR-1 spyplane
* SR-71 Blackbird
* F-117 stealth fighter
* B-2 stealth bomber
* F-22 stealth fighter
.......plus any other stealth craft whether aircraft, ships, etc., etc.  The more, the merrier, but preferably and hopefully in 1/144 scale or close to it if possible.
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

You could always leave the display case empty and tell puzzled viewers:

We either have visually stealthy aircraft flying into the airfield here or else Wonder Woman is patrolling!
I'll keep an eye open for them but they might disappear off the shelves.

Pitroad do the F-35A & F-35B in 1/144, AFAIK the Revell kit is the X-35

Might be wrong, but I believe the Revell Snap-tite SR-71 is 1/144th. Can't really vouch for accuracy, but my son built one and it looked like a Blackbird to me.

German Lampridae stealth fighter, Anigrand do the Bird of Prey in 1/144, I've got a Lockheed stealth ship, the F-19 in 1/144 is real cheap, and you could probably use a second one to scratch the original Testors design...

Pardon for gravedigging my own topic.

In the last 2-3 months, as well as currently, I've been buying, and still continuing to buy, a lot of stealth model kits which are listed below. Eventually in the future, I want to showcase a large display of stealth vehicles from the past, present, and future, to show at a contest. Sort of to show and educate people about stealth vehicles and technology. But.........I'm not sure "how" to display everything? Having a 6 ft. or 8 ft. table is one thing. But what about a backdrop, signage, notes about each stealth vehicle, other equipment and display fixtures, lighting, shelving, etc.?  Anybody got any good display ideas?
Should I just display stealth aircraft only? Just stealth type ships only? Just U.S. stealth vehicles only? Or include EVERYTHING?

What I have and/or am recieving so far:

Dragon 1/144 SR-71 Blackbird
Dragon 1/144 U-2R Spyplane

You could create a dock yard scene for the ships and have a flight line behind or raised to show off your aircraft. Perhaps one or two in flight on plastic clear rods.

TsrJoe

Anigrand do a few items of interest in relation to your suggested theme too  :thumbsup:

I would have a display with all the stealth types grouped. Not necessarily all the models but enough of each to show the various "looks" of the things
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Hobbes

If you have the room, display them all, grouped as makes sense (planes/ships, then by timeline and/or type).

Backdrop is optional, a table with a simple tablecloth is good enough (make sure the tablecloth color isn't close to that of the models, that would make photographing them difficult).

Are you going for purposely stealthy designs, or accidental ones? Things like the XB-35, Ho229 were not designed to be stealthy but turned out to have relatively small radar signatures by accident (would also need to include Avro Vulcan etc in this). Others on your list (Sukhoi Berkut, U-2/TR-1 etc) are not stealthy at all. There are also other interesting experimental designs, for example the EE Canberra that had radar-absorbing paint applied.

If you're including the Arleigh Burke and La Fayette ships, you should also consider types such as the British Type 23 frigate, the MEKO design family etc, as they were all designed with features to reduce their radar return.
