Off work today sick. One of those days when you have to be carefull if your going to fart which is not good when you travell 40 miles to get to work mostly on the motorway.  :-\
Problem probably caused by my forgetting to take a tablet that calms my stomoch yeaterday which I am supposed to take daily along with medication for my knees whach have been a right pain for since I helped with her mother's new place.

Last day of my current furlough, I'm off on Friday as well as I have a new bed being delivered. 1 to 1 scale build.
Went to Cumbernauld yesterday to Pet's at Home to get a GPS tracker for my cat, it lost the last one which I can't get to  :banghead:. Anyway, the Garmin Sat-nav when fed with the Post Code sent me to one side of the stadium which wasn't any good to me as I eventually found out that the shop I wanted was several hundred yards away from the opposite side of the stadium. I had to use Google Maps on my phone to get me there in the end. I think I prefer Livingston to Cumbernauld as far as the "New Town's" go as nearly all the shops are in one area and not spread out over half the countryside. At least I will roughly know where the cat is.

He's a very good boy, apart from the fact he is an outdoor cat and I hardly see him, hence the new tracker. If only he would come home so I could fit it to him!

Just had a thought. If Australia had operated Vulcans, would they have been used in Vietnam and then would they have used the SEA scheme or just a larger version of what the Canberra's wore? I'm leaning towards the latter but thought I would ask.

Got to do something with the old ones in the stash don't I?

Yeah, probably the Canberra scheme ....... But SEA would look wa-ay better! ;D ;)

Just finding out that I need smaller drill bits. 0.3mm isn't good enough for the Albion Alloys tubing I have so my Defiant, and any other kit that I am replacing the pittot tube with brass rod, will not be as near to scale as they should. The problem all stems from the cutting of the tube. Side cutters are right out as they will crush the brass tube which has walls of roughly 0.1mm thickness. The only other method that I can think of is to roll the tube under a sharp knife to score then cut through the tubing. This works to an extent, however the interior of the tube requires to be cleaned out as cutting the tube deforms it but nowhere as badly as using cutters does so it still requires to be cleaned out and at the moment the smallest sized tube I can do that with has an outside diameter (o.d.) of 0.5mm which equates to a whopping 35mm when scaled up from 1/72 scale.
I do have smaller o.d. tubing but as the smallest drill bit is a whopping 0.3mm any tubing I have that has in internal diameter smaller than that will have to for now be the smallest outer part of a two part or more set of tubes.  :banghead:
Ordering smaller drill bits tomorrow which should go down to 0.1mm. This sounds small but I did get a sample pack from Albion Alloys a few years ago when I was last at Telford which contains a tube with an i.d. of 0.2mm and this is the smallest I have at the moment and I'm not touching it until I get those new drill bits!
The Defiant will just have to make do with a cannon sized tittot tube.

Late to the party...

I use a conical milling bit instead. Somewhat like the top one in this photo, but I found one with a very sharp tip that will deburr even the smallest sizes of Albion tubing.

Yeah, but I'm thinking New Zealand for that and a very faded RAF based scheme for an Indian Air Force machine.

I'm not sure that I like Parcel Force any more. They have my Hannant's parcel and want money, £5.5 to deliver it to my neighbour, or £1 to drop it off at the local sub-post office either of which they could have done earlier today rather than return the item to their depot.  :banghead: :banghead:
Goes without saying that I am going to pay the smaller amount which also means that it won't be available to collect until Wednesday rather than Tomorrow which is the earliest they could redeliver to my neighbour, oh and it would be at least Wednesday if I asked then to redeliver to my address which they would have do tomorrow anyway if I hadn't changed where it was being delivered!  :banghead: :banghead:
What a ridiculous set up!

Corporate Greed Rules OK.  :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I've had no trouble with Parcel Force, touching wood, although one of the benefits of being retired is that I can arrange to be in once they let me know they are delivering.

I had no problems up until now especially as work was quite flexible about taking a day off at short notice, now though the order book has picked up so they are enforcing their length of time beforehand again.

That's actually quite a good sign of things, although not much use if you need to be at home.
