That or blu-tac... some drivers are allegedly magnetic, but trusting in that is just asking for another dropped screw and more swearing...  ;D

Al if your going to keep messing around with small machine screws there's some cheap tools you'll want and need ...magnetic tipped screwdrivers and magnetic tool bit holders ..oh also a extendable magnet pen ..those are brilliant for picking up screws and dropped tools if ya don't want to bend over ..also I can pretty much promise what you drop outside will end up under the car and in the middle of it :banghead:
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

It's not a small machine screw, it's a Screw Bolt that uses a 10mm socket on its head, which when not in use I kept very safe under lock and key so it doesn't disappear.

Ohh ok..not a problem..ive got magnetic hex drives too ..there used for roofing screws but also sweet for 10mm headed bolts ..something ive got dozens and dozens of   ;D

The problem is fitting it through a hole in the inner panel before it goes into the part with roughly a centimetre or less between the panel and the part with very little room to get anything between them.

In that case ..1/4in 10mm socket on a extension with the socket stuffed with new smurf poop ..blue tac ..works a treat .
Oh ..also long reach 1/4in sockets are thinner than normal ..ive got 3 sets of em and cheap as hell compared to some sockets ive got .

Oh, I'll manage, I did get the previous one out.

Kit's 3rd Law applies.

'Any item on a car is located in a place determined by a guy so far up the management tree that they've forgotten how to work on cars.'
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

'Any item on a car is located in a place determined by a guy so far up the management tree that they've forgotten how to work on cars.'

Wednesday last week we had a "Lunch and Learn" so that the manufacturing department could find out how well our products are thought of and do. The equipment I work on does quite well, with very few problems out in the field in the eight years the product has been around. As it was said during the presentation that another product is due to be upgraded to a Mk2 version because it has been in production for ten years, I asked if the product I work on is due to be upgraded, knowing full well that a few trial items have been made to various standards. The manager that was presenting that section, said that according to the calculations by the head of the development department, the new unit will break the laws of physics. Having known said head of department for the last eight years I am not surprised that his calculations give that result as his design work and the way he runs the department are similar to the quality of his maths.

I have managed to come up with an idea for the "Bad Idea" Group Build. Only thing wrong is that a "spare" engine I was going to use is missing  :banghead:

I have one of the pair of engines I was going to use, I had even gone into the depths of the loft to bag get the parts a few days ago. A second kit which I was also going to use as a donor is within arms reach of me and only had the exhaust, the rest of the parts haveing been carefully removed previously and put....... somewhere.  :banghead: So much for trying to be tidy

There is a possibility that the parts are in the loft in a third boxing of the kit, but having been up there already today I don't feel like going up there again, in fact, I don't feel much like doing anything now. Really deflated now with a complete loss of motivation.

Gondor

Later: The missing parts are not in the other boxings in the loft  :banghead:

What were you going to use them with before? Maybe they're in that box.

kerick

What engine do you need? Maybe someone here has one.

I have no idea

It's not a problem as I have found a workaround.
