Quote from: Gondor on September 18, 2024, 12:52:48 PMGood news, My mother is home so I shall visit her tomorrow after work if she is ok with that. I should send an email to check first though.

Modelling-wise I have managed to find suitable decals for the Firefly. Not 100% sold on which operator though.

   , indeed.

Good news about decals and conversion stuff. But great news about your mum, Alastair.
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

Good to hear your mum's home Alastair

Quote from: Gondor on September 18, 2024, 01:40:13 PMI was thinking that perhaps I should transfer all the conversion and detail sets that I have into one box,

Gondor

That's a good idea. I do something similar with all my spare parts etc. Especially the weapons, different boxes for each country and period etc.

Quote from: Gondor on September 18, 2024, 01:40:13 PMThis also prompted me to write it down so I don't forget what I am planning to do.

Gondor

Another good one. However I started something similar a fair while ago and it now covers over 30 A4 pages of quite small handwriting. I'm thinking of burying it in a box so that the archeologists in 2400 AD can have fun trying to decipher its meaning
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I was talking about just separating Colin's resin items from all the rest of the after-market items I have in boxes, I already keep his decal sets separate from the rest.

I am using a Word document which I keep permanently open on my PC so that if I think of something I don't have to look for it. Currently on page three with only a couple of items completed.

I tried that a while back, but they don't make boxes THAT big..........................  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I should have been more explicit. I am thinking of moving all the conversion and detail sets by Freightdog into the one box rather than have them in the boxes, three, along with all the others I have by different manufacturers.

I always keep the kit in its own box then extra parts in their own bag or box separately. That way I don't forget expensive aftermarket stuff. If I forget what the project was then it probably was not going to happen anyway.

Trying to spend more time on the models I want to finish for Telford but not managing to get as much time as I would like, but that's life. It never helps when you have to spend an hour on the phone organising Car Insurance.
I have an extra day to work on model stuff next week as work is shutting our building for an upgrade to some of the electrical systems, they want us to still work the hours though, work from home or from another building if possible. I'm not sure that it's legal or not, anyway, as leaving work an hour and a bit later than I usually do will put me travelling home smack in the middle of rush hour, my travel time is very likely to be longer, possibly up to twice my normal time which means I lose an hour and a half per day. No way!, so I have taken the day off.

So I am now on a long weekend

Well, no party as not only do I have a muscle in my left shoulder that is playing up, my right wrist is complaining as well. A trip to the open surgery at the doctor's tomorrow morning I think. Better safe than sorry. As I will be out and about I may as well do a little food shopping.

With the batton in place for the shower door, I suppose I had better get that assembled as well as work on models this weekend. I think my youngest nephew, who has just started an apprenticeship with the local Citroen garage may have to help me as it's a big and heavy door which needs to be fitted into place while held at the right angle.

So a list of things to do, some of which may actually get done, forgotten or have other things take their place, but that's how things usually go.

1) Shower door
2) Decal the Firefly & my Mule
3) Paint the P-53. This sounds simple but I am going to go for a bare metal finish that is brush-painted  :-\
4) Sort out the PSR on the Starboard wing of a Hunter that is mostly finished
5) Find the seat for the Hunter and progress that
6) Progress the seat for a Swift that is almost complete
7) Try and progress the Swift
8) Do more work on the Eagle Tempest.

The last thing I'll do is write a list Al,, as I'll either loose the list or change my mind about the list and come up with another idea 💡 🤔
I've already got quite a few vehicles to finish..a AH1 Cobra in 35th and 10 16th scale figures to paint .
And soon thanks to Mr Lowe I've got another idea for a Viggen build  :banghead:
Oh I do our hobby tho  ;D

I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

In my defense, I was sober at the time - though at the end of a long day, so... ;)

That's why I posted the list here, it's not going to go missing.

I did write a catchall to try and cover life.

Such things as not going to the doctor's because the wrist is much better this morning are already changing what I was going to do. My cat Spot has also done his part. Life on his terms, not the humans!

Three days ago I produced a list. I have now crossed off item One!

Item Four has almost sorted itself out. I was sanding back some filler I had applied when there was the sound of a crack and I felt the top of the wing/fuselage joint move. Not a problem in this case as the problem had been that it had shifted while the glue was drying so that the top of the wing/fuselage joint was too high, now it was free to be glued in its correct position!

So some progress and one item crossed off the list with a second close behind.
