I got home from Telford a little after 8pm today. It would have been earlier if I had not made a detour via Coventry Airport to look at the Aviation Museum there. Their chairman did say a few things about OGl when I was having a chat with him
After that I met up with a friend for lunch so it is no wonder I am later than otherwise, the roadworks on the A1(M) didn't help much.
Once I left the hotel this morning I filled up the car's fuel tank with petrol for the journey home, and with all the travelling along the M6 and A45? as I was getting nearer to home the satnav and fuel range were having a fight over which had the lower number. To be on the safe side I stopped at Hamilton services and put as near to a fiver into the tank which was not much at £1.61 per litre, but it was more than enough to get me home.
The heating has been on since I got in as it was around twelve centigrade, but feeling as if it was one point two. Hope the flat gets warm enough to go to bed tonight, and no I don't have nor intend to get an electric blanket again.

I've been using fleece blankets for the past 20 years (and only 12 with SWMBO under them as well).  Even in the desert of Iraq I've never had a problem keeping warm under them.

While visiting my mum this afternoon, I remembered that I managed to achieve a couple of things, which were appreciated. I got rid of a reasonable-sized tin of fruit cake, and two hundred plastic trays.

Too right, that fruit cake was WONDERFUL!

After Telford this year I travelled to the Midlands Air Museum.

Here are the pictures.

Please bear in mind that I took these pictures for my reference or interest, not for the general public. Some of them were taken because of subjects that have cropped up here, Kit may be interested in the pictures of the Lepard, and a conversation at the show led me to take a couple of pictures of the trailing edge of the Saudi Lightning T.55.

Please enjoy, copy only for your own use and give credit where credit is due.

I wonder if OGL recognised or can say who built what in this picture?

The Supermarine Type 545 is the Maintrack kit, made by Frank Campey and repainted by someone I won't name but is quite free with the property of others. Ie it wasn't his to donate to a museum and who didn't get the permission of the original owner to do so.

Oh yes, I used that actual CMC Leopard as a reference when I built my model of it.

We're there at their model show every year anyway, sometimes twice.

Some are mine, Some are Geoff,s scratchbuilds and others from various members and former members of the SIG and some came from the museums own people and collection.

Should the museum decide to put on public display the only known remaining part of the real Supermarine 545, that happens to be in their collection. The model of it is perfectly placed to be displayed along side it. The part in question is the main canopy section.

I should point out that as far as the museum is concerned, each model remains in the ownership of its builder (or assumed Builder) and is merely on long term loan to them. Some have in the past been returned to their owners when requested. Including some of my own older Luft 46 stuff.

Nice that they recognize that...

Starting to think about next year's builds, specifically for "The Telford Flood". Two I am going to keep quiet on, at least for now, and two that I won't or have already started. There may be more new builds that I take along just for the show too.
