Quite good news about my car after all the hassle with the courtesy car. That was a KIA Sportage which is huge compared to my normal car and an automatic so it was rather like driving a tank  :tank:
Well the car passed its M.O.T. test!  :drink:  The rear brakes were noted as something to watch as they are binding a bit, but I know they are not 100% so that's something that I will get looked at in a few months.

My place is not big enough for a party, I don't keep beer in the place, and there is only really room enough for one dancing girl, I wish

Now that I can get back onto the site, most of yesterday I was unable to get access, no idea if it was the server of my pc, life is better. My cat turned up this morning and has pulled the laundry basket onto it's side so he can sleep in it, cats!

I posted that I had received some new parts from Starling Models, I also received some purchases from eBay, ship plans, mostly in 1/96 scale so quite large but all are for ships that I have been thinking of building for some time and it will probably be some time before I build them. The 4.5", which is a little odd as it probably should be 4 1/2" as the inch is not decimal, are for other ships as well as one of my plans, Throvic gave me some Type 21 ships which will benefit from some of these new guns. I am also hoping that Starling models produce a set of 1/600 Sea Wolf and Sea Dart which will help with a few planned builds.

Yesterday I was experiencing minor problems with my car, it had been in a garage for an MOT on Friday. The drivers door mirror fails to completely fold out when the relevant button is pushed. I have to fold the mirrors again and then open them a second time for the mirror to unfold properly. Going to the garage on the way home to show the service department the problem.  :banghead:

'Ah yes sir, they all do that'
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

It didn't before they had their hands on it this time Kit. Thought it fixed itself as when leaving work it opened fully at the first go, then didn't when about to leave the garage. Now booked in for that next Friday and to get the brakes adjusted so that my foot is not half an inch from the firewall before the car starts to slow down.

Regaring the type 21s, the Starling seacat, vickers mk8, liferafts, covus launchers torpedo tubes should allow for a decent non-exocet build, sadly the exocets are in the Devonshire set and are twin pairs, where as the type 21 had them a single launcher racks (actually the Devonshire gives you alot of the parts for a Type 21 )

The exocets have enough gap between each container to allow them to be separated into individual items, just have to build the mountings for them.

It's been a couple of weeks, near enough, since I last blogged   Is that the correct term? Anyway, life has gotten more "interesting". Had a day off work today due to the car going into the garage as I was unhappy with the brakes despite the car fairly recently passing its MOT test with only advisories for the rear brakes binding. So I get a phone call late in the afternoon saying that both brake callipers for the rear wheels are seized and that the brake pads are also worn right down. No problem getting the brake pads, but the callipers can only be got from the manufacturer. Added bonus to this is the cost is four figures north of the decimal point   :-\
I was supposed to be going out for lunch with my mum on Sunday, that's been put back a week so I will just go and visit her, only a couple of miles away and I have a bus pass so no problem. Luckily I have on my phone I have an app for my work HR software so I have put in for Monday off work as I am not going to use public transport to get to and from work and still get to the garage in time to pick up the car if it's ready.
One thing other than my cat turning up today was the fact the TSRJoe visited for a few hours. Unfortunately, the cat was not so happy and wanted outside since he was woken up because a stranger was in his territory, He was acting fairly friendly towards Joe before getting let out and has since come home again.
So it's been an eventful day and I feel exhausted because of it..

NARSES2

Not being a motorist the cost of replacement parts never ceases to amaze me. A mate has just had some work done and it's simply  :o
