Cheers for the update. A couple of my mates who've had Covid have said they fely knackered for a fair while afterwards, but that it does pass.

I like the idea of the cat tracker

Cat tracker? Hmmm! ;)

Just be careful with your recovery, Gondor, & keep your doctor informed of anything weird post recovery, there have been some worrying things mentioned in medical journals about post-COVID complications.

Went for an eye test this afternoon as I was not only overdue getting tested I wanted to change the company that looked after my eyes. The staff certainly helped with the eye sight

Only problem is that my cateracts have changed so much I am no no longer legal to drive!  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

However they had a solution, which contained a pair of contacts which after a good half hour of faffin around I managed to fit!

I can now see medium to far distances far better than I have been able to for ages, the downside is that as they are contact they only do one distance so typing this and reading the computer screen is not the easiest things to do.

Next big question of the day is where the hell did I put the iron as I have a shirt to iron for the funeral tomorrow

The funeral on Thursday went ok, my faience managed to mostly keep it together as it was her father we laid to rest. Friday her brother almost kicked her out of the house telling her to come over and see me and not to be back until Monday as she needed the rest and change of scenery. She has gone home today as she has lots of phone calls to make over the next few days and feels better at starting those from home.
Saturday afternoon I find out that my dad had to go into hospital!  :banghead: :banghead:
Apparently least week when he had a fall, or maybe some time earlier, he cracked a bone near the top of his left leg, he was also due to go into hospital for a scan to see how he was doing after a mini stroke towards the end of last year. The scan found that he had had some bleeding on the brain so he got transferred into Edinburgh where a specialist unit is for nuro surgerywhich was successfully carried out today. This has meant that my mum has had a little rest although she has to plan her meals as everything is in multiples of two which makes a mess of planning meals
I'm nor fully recovered from having had Covid so I have been signed off sick for another couple of weeks which works out ok as my car is still in the garage as they needed more time to dry out the carpet before putting it back into the car, I'm sure a saw a gnome with a fishing rod in the back of my car last week, that's how wet the interior had gotten  :banghead: and my new glasses are not ready so I can't drive the car anyway  :banghead: :banghead:

Of course I have had to get the contact lenses I was given so I could borrow my mum's car so I could go to the funeral taken out so I am not legal to drive my car even when it is ready to bring home  great  :banghead: :banghead:
The good side of that is I am really looking forward to getting my new glasses as the improvement to my vision just using the contacts was fantastic! So my faience has agreed to drive my car back to my place once it's ready which could be a day or so before I get my glasses.

Of course the high point of this last week has been having my faience visit for a couple of days, even if when we have gone shopping we have felt like a couple in their eighties with a lack of energy and breathlessness to match but other than that it's been great to see her.

Sorry to hear about your chores, mate, but after all, it's good seeing that you've had some company. I find from my own experience that you can take a lot more crap if you have someone who carries it with you.
Take care, of you and her, and stick it out. It's improving by the day!

Hells Bells Alastair, that doesn't sound too much fun. :(

I certainly hope things get better for you soon, even if it means going back to work.

Slowly improving by the day is what's happening. Having a cat is a bit of a help although Spot, named so I can misquote Shakespeare at him, is not much help as he loved being either outdores or asleep
Having my faience round was more normal than the last month or two have been even if all we could do was some firkytoodling  ;D-

Thanks Kit. Not exactly looking forward to going back to work as it's a 40mile drive each way and then there will be the inevitable "back to work" interview which will make it sound as if it's all my fault!
The good thing is that last month I saved roughly £600 although I have paid most of that out for new glasses and pre-orders of model kits.

"B" of a week Alastair, hope it was all the rotten stuff for the year rolled into one.

I to have new glasses on order, which should improve my vision and as a knock on my hand eye co-ordination. Due to pick them up tomorrow, but phone call from Boots to say that the lens grinders have mucked something up and they have had to go back, so another two/three weeks to wait  :-\

I was with Boots but they thought there was nothing wrong with my glasses, a year or two later and at a different optitions and they find my long distance vision has changed by FIVE dioptics!!!
