Hope it all works out mate

Really found out today that a new blade on my modelling knife really works wonders. I suppose I was getting used to the gradual dulling of the old blade/knife and makeing do. Now I have a new blade/knife it's supprising how well the tip especially is working. Been cutting brass tubing with the blade, no problem at all when rolling the knife and tube along a surface, cut in no time

Thanks for that tip on cutting brass tube

Thinking of doing a couple of A-3 Skywarriors in RAF service. Using early aircraft, one is already half built but I had serious problems with the cockpit as the floor didn't want to sit level. This aircraft is using the Maintrack resin conversion set, I also have the Quickboost Nose and Tail conversions which will go onto another aircraft and will be the Front-line aircraft where as the former aircraft will become a tanker. Thinking of CV-01 and CV-02 as the carriers they operate from. Thoughts please.

That could work well.

I built my Douglas Skysearcher AEW(K)1 from the Hase A-3 kit, and added an AEW radome from a Gannet and used the kit's tanker parts as well, making it a dual purpose machine for the FAA.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Oooh!! Awesome!!

So I have been looking at some of the other builds on here as one does. One of them that caught my eye was the TurboSpit which got me looking at the Hannants web site and the AIM products. Lot's of nice goodies there including lots of Dart engines, but which ones to get for my Argosy which is by Mach2
Wikipedia first, no help as it doesn't give the info needed. Then I remembered that I have the Warpaint book on the Argosy
No help as I have temporarily misplaced that volume, I did find several others though, F-102, Neptune, Me 262 and MiG-21 being among them. The curious thing is that the instructions are not in the box, it was one of the places I looked for the Warpaint volume as it was bought to help with the build and as such a reasonable polace to store it. The collection of Warpaint books was checked as I had the whole lot out so I could put the found volumes back into their correct number order so checking the rest of them was only a minor addition to my task.
End result, nope, not found, no real idea where the instructions or book are  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
The thing is that I think I have been through all the places that I would normally put something like that, and yet.......

The trick to find something mislaid is to order a second copy. You can bet your life on that you'll find the mislaid one right after you've sorted the payment of the second one..

Just realised that it doesn't matter which version of the Dart I replace the kit one's with, the build is a whiff anyway so if there is a visual difference it can be explained in the backstory
Finding it will probably result is a sorting of the tables to my immediate left which is where a lot of stuff/things* end up from my being on the pc a lot and fetteling away at models at the same time.

Well so far the search has turned up two Argos related items, only one of which I was looking for.

The first was the instructions  :drink: which are a single sheet on the opposite side of the paint scheme which was still in it's box.

The second was another Mach 2 Argosy  :o The reason for having a second one was that the first was the wrong colour scheme for what I wanted but I was able to find a whiff use for it so it's not wasted. The second kit will be improved a bit as the last time I was at Telford I took a picture or two at Cosford of the aircraft they had there so both kits will be a little bit more detailed than the kit is.

Yippee.... Found the missing Warpaint Volume

Found it along with several older Scale Aircraft Modelling, one of them being Vol 8 Number 8, the rest are of similar vintage. They were sitting under a couple of Modern Airfix AV-8A kits which was out of place so I investigated! Phew, glad to have found it as it would have bugged me for ages.

Work earlier this week informed me that I am furloughed next week as well. No supprise to me when you get your culminating mirrors from China and almost all you have available are bad so there is a delay in getting replacements which is not unsurprising due to not only the distance but the nature of the mirrors which are not your average household mirrors. Good chance I will be off for the rest of the month too  :-\

Bad luck mate

Furlough is still in operation, but only for this month so I do get most of my pay. I would retire if I had the financial ability to do so, we will just have to see what this weeks lottery tickets come up with tomorrow when I get them checked

The second was another Mach 2 Argosy...

How "bad" is the Argosy kit really? I have one, but the casting is so crude that I haven't really dared to get going with it. I really don't know why as I actually didn't have that much trouble with the Mach2 RB-57 Canberra, but..

The RB-57F is one of Mach2's better kits though..............  :-X
