Finished work early today as I had an appointment at my local Hospital. Timed everything just right as I got to the Cardiology reception about five minuites befor the appointment time. Five minutes later I was looking for the public toilets as it was still a bit of a drive home and I had some shopping to do at a shop that I knew didn't have a public toilet. Parking at Hospitals is alway less than is needed unless you get there some time after 1am. I found a space and just had enough of a gep to get out of the car, it was a squeeze but I managed it!
The results of the ECG I went for will be sent to my doctor who will probably want to phone me at some time to discuss the results. Hope there is nothing untoward but it had to be done to see if there was anything connected to my high blood pressure. Process of elimination and all that.

Well good news and bad news. Good news is that my New Airfix 1/48 Buccaneer turned up today rather than a previously expected Monday delivery so I am pleased with that. I am also going to get some more modelling time as Spot the cat has decided that he wanted to be outside after a week of being a house cat so no more velcro cat. The bad news is that Spot the cat has decided he must be outside again.

Ours are mostly content to stay indoors.  Except Dany, who managed to get out twice.  She'll rush for the door when she hears us coming in and try to make a break for it.

The paint rack I received earlier duering the week ans been assembled and put in place 



There are two "Keyhole" mounting points near the top which allows the unit to be wall mounted so I fitted it onto a book shelf which holds paints and accessories and of course some kits. I just randomly put some of the Hataka paints I have into the stand which I shall properly sort out in a bit.

Six rows of paints can be fitted, three each of nine and ten which is Fifty Seven pots of paintin a rack that is roughly 30cm x 30cm and a good price too. I have another plywood unit I bought of Amazon which cost a lot more and is far less useful, and will be replaced when I can find something similar but better to replace it with. Certainly going to look through the EMBA web site first. Thoroughly recommend this product.

Just totaled up all the different colours of HATAKA paint I have. Forty Eight in total with Forty Three unique colours and only five duplicates and no triplicates either. Not bad as I bought seven packs, some from the same time frame, so some of them were bound to have dulicates.

The pain t rack looks good. I think Hataka have good stuff. I've only tried their airbrush colors yet but i was very happy with how they work, very similar to Tamiya, meaning, very easy to work with.

Hataka brush paint is very good too, I like it much more than the Tamiya stuff, and a bit better than Gunze Sangyo paint too..

Yup they are my go to paints now whenever I need to replace any colours. Mind you I think I have enough Xtracolor RAF WWII shades to last me the Millennium.

Hataka were at the last SMW prior to Covid and Lockdown etc. Had a long chat with them, and spent a lot of money  , I got the feel they were modellers at the end of the day. Hoping they get back this year, but I've a feeling we may have seen the last of shows with large numbers of  overseas traders in attendance

Found a game I used to play with a pal that came over years ago called Re-Volt! You drive a radio control car around a track or street circuit and it was rather fun. It's just been releced on Steam for those that use it for under a fiver so I have just bought it.... more time spent not modelling  andin

Following on from the above, the IT chappie at work suggested that I upgrade my graphics card to handle one of the computer games I play, he had a couple of years ago recommended the PC I am using too. So first problem starts when fitting the new graphics card into the case as it's twice the depth of the old one due to the fans fitted to help cool it. So out comes the wireless PCI adaptor card and it's twin twigs as the space was needed for the graphics card, not on the motherboard but the back for the air intake, not using wireless anyway no no problem. However, several single and dule pin connectors decided to remove themselves from the motherboard in the process and although the connectors are labeled, the motherboard is not 

Graphics card fitted and off into town this morning to see my friendly local computer shop, only they are shut so its off to the local tip to get rid of some rubbish and then a quick look on the phone to find another computer shop only to find that the shop I wanted to go to simply opened later on a Saturday and would be open in less than ten minuites so back to the shop!

The guy in the shop who remembered me from years ago, he has worked there fr fifteen years and I used to buy parts from there to build and upgrade my own pc's, he fixed the problem in five minuites and charged me nothing! I returned the favout when re connecting everything back to the tower and realising that I needed more USP ports for occational items such as the sat-nav or phone so rather than go to Curry's I went back to the shop. Everything is going fine untill I try to get my pc and what I am using as a moniter to talk to each other and produce a nice picture where none of the image is clipped on all sides  no go 

Decided to leave things for a bit and go an visit my parents, actually just my mum as my dad just sits there and either watches tv or falls asleep, he is in his nineties now so understandable. While I was there I decided the only real answer to the computer problem was to spend more money and simply buy a new monitor which I have done and also did some food shopping for my mum

It works well, came with both an HDMI cable and a DP cable which is like an HDMI cable but with a square corner at the top rather than haveing two shoulders like the HDMI which is a result as it saved me buying another cable 

THe "instructions" if you could call them that told me to switch on the power. Nice and straight forward I thought, only no obviousl indication of where the power button is and nothing in the paperwork to show where it is    Found it eventually and not done anything else to the monitor which looks great, it's bigger and curved, which is takeing a bit of getting used to and I have yet to see if it improved playing CIV VI and how it does with Re-Volt, but we shall see.

I must admit I've found that lots of electronic kit you buy nowadays, especially on-line, comes with the absolute minimum when it comes to instructions, and whilst I understand they have the issue of multi languages to consider I find it incredibly frustrating. Even the guys in electronic shops seem to assume that you have a certain amount of  fairly detailed knowledge to start with and sometimes they just can't explain the basics in understandable day to day language. As for mobile phone shops ? Don't even get me started  My fault partly as for far to many years I simply opened my office door and yelled for my IT specialist, who would come running and fix the problem. Anyway rant over
