Played some Civ VI over the weekend and it is faster due to the far better, I am glad it is for what I paid for it, graphics card takes a load off the PC's CPU. Loading of the game is far faster and everything is running smoother too. All the software I have looked at fits the screen nicely too.
It all ended up more expensive that I would have liked but the end result was worth it as the moniter should last for a long time.

That's what usually happens.  At the beginning of the year, I bought a new rig and monitors to replace my 8 year old laptop.  Sadly, both towers I bought wouldn't post, so I said frak it and bought a new gaming laptop.

I don't think the amount or type of games I play really warrant the expence of a Gameing PC so the one I have which is doing fine for now will do very nicely.

I don't use it for gaming, per say (other than Civ6, The Sims, occasional forays into WoWS and STO).  I use it more for 3D rendering.  And having as much CPU power, RAM that it has, along with more GPU power and vRAM, makes all of a difference.  On my old laptop, it would take renders anywhere from 12 hours to infinity, depending on the complexity (# of assets in workspace, lighting, etc.), or crash, especially with more than a bare handful of newer generation figures.  While I keep my default 18 hour processing target, I can get a high quality image done in less that amount of time.

That's a lot more gaming than I do, I also appreciate the need for the extra oomph needed with what you do even if I don't do anything like that myself.

Unfortunate news today. I recently looked at the contents of one of the fairly recent additions to my Stash, an Airfix 1/72 Supermarine Swift, only to find that the instrument panel was missing  :banghead:
With this part being a fairly complex shape I decided to try the Airfix spares department who have informed me that "Unfortunately, due to the age of the kit, we have not been able to locate the part you have requested so I am sorry but on this occasion we are unable to be of assistance."
The swift was released in 2015 so they shall be getting a short reply when I get home so that I can reply properly.

Just ordered another Swift so I may have a go at scratch building one as I will have something to work with but if anyone has a spare or can cast a few for me then I can build a two seater?

I think I have one going spare somewhere Alastair.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

The Wooksta!

The only two seat Swift proposed had a similar sides by side arrangement to the two seat Type 545, the type 554.

This is whiff world so I may do it in-line and butcher an Xtrakit for side by side.

The Wooksta!

There's a 72 drawing on Secret Projects for the 554, so that may help.

Got some aditional storage for my decal Bank, or another vault

Really Usefull Box company I find are surprisingly really usful in this regard. I now have two 5Litre boxes, 5060024802610 from the bar code, one for Modeldecal sheets and the other for Xtradecal sheets. I also have four 2.5 Litre boxes, 5060231634646 from the bar code, which contain other decal sheets. All boxes are clear so you can see what's inside and easily stack on top of each other. In one shop today I did find a 5XL which made me think how can you have an Extra Large Five Litre box?

Not long home from getting my second eye op done. Feel a bit let down by the whole thing. The Lateral Flow Test I took this morning was wasted as no one asked for it and I have a limited supply of reportable tests so that's one waisted. No sick line given out either but I have sent an email to work to my supervisor and Human Resources saying that I will be taking the rest of the week off sick to make sure the new lens settles in.

Quite a bit of discomfort with the right eye today. Didn't have so much with the lesft one if I rememer correctly, well it was a coouplw of months ago  :-\

Vision is good though, if I close my left eye there is no change in depth of field which means that I have to carry my glasses around with me so I can read things unless they are some distance away from me which is a pain so I am looking forward to roughly two months time when I should have a new pair of verifocal glasses to wear around the house and while at work, but that is the future.
