A friend just posted this on Facebook:

The V-280 Valour - the result of a V-22 getting jiggy with a Blackhawk.
A genuine proposal (apparently) from Bell.
More here: http://thehangar.tv/forum/topics/news-the-new-bell-v-280-valour

Looks do-able, no?

Ooh, and Bell's website on it - http://bellv280.com/ - has "photos" of one carrying lots of bangy things too.

Now, will the USAF let the Army buy it?

The Army can have the fuselage and the Air Force can have the wings and engines. Nothing like co-operation, eh?  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

You'll have to wait for the re-release of the 1/72 V-22 Osprey due out later this year, unless you use 1/48 kits.

Mr.Creak

I'd say there's no Osprey parts required, except for, possibly, the props themselves.
Have another look.
The wings seem to be straight and constant chord (just "straight planks") and the engines are fixed, with only the prop/ rotor doing the tilting - simple tubes.

Wow...that sure looks neat ! Would be easy enough to build as well eh ? Might as well make one out of a Cobra too

But I still miss the old days, when a tandem chopper had her rotors one in front of the other.....

Don't give me ideas Captain! My plate is already full!

I do have chopper parts lying around left over from Super Blackhawk......
Someone just has to build a full on attack version. I hear the problem in Afganistan is that the V-22s have to slow down so that they don't out run the Cobra escorts.

I might be able to use some parts from either a Revell or Airfix Rotordyne kit and a raid of my spare parts bin in 1/72 scale.

Why don't they arm the V-22s?

They have machine guns mounted to the rear loading ramp and there have been a few proposals to arm them, but none have made it to production yet.

What they need is A-10 escorts. I hope the services work together on that.

Or Skyraiders, just like in Vietnam.
