After finishing another box of milliput with some of one of the two parts left over I finally bit the bullet and bought a set of micro-electronic scales off EvilBay.



Cost me $Au1.00+$Au4.95 postage.   Been using them ever since.  Just cut equal weight of each part of Milliput.

Clever! I've been rolling the Milliput into sausages so I could compare length of the two components, but your method is better.
