here we go, I used the first one : crossed the coccinella with a 1/43 citroen 2cv like this :




the VW beetle would have been much too obvious a choice 
and like this it looks nice too, the scale-mix fits nicely :

Of course I did it both ways : the wheeled coccinella








and the legged 2cv :

Just discovered this wonderful thread.

This 1972 album cover by  Roger Dean carries a drawing of an actual model made some years earlier. Possibly my favourite hybrid whiff ever. He did others, too. Collecting his album covers is something I do on those rare occasions when I have cash in hand.

a very inspiring image indeed : it would just need a bird skull, and then choose a SR71 kit of the appropriate scale.
I have to go and look for a bird head : I still have heads from the Lindberg American Eagle ...

ahother kind of hybridization : giving wings to bottles :

this is a Sopwith Camel (1/32) upon a belgian beer bottle (I liked the top/cork) of the brand "Paix Dieu"

Love the beetles. The one looks like a computer mouse while the other just looks creepy !
