small wingtip wheels, indeed, I had thought about that : maybe I can make an upgrade sometime ...
(I must a few hundreds small wheels in the scrap boxes)

steelpillow

Wingtip wheels should really be retractable, which is awkward. Wingtip skids would be more practical, for example early swept-wing types such as the Dunnes had them.
Cheers.

skids are a good idea indeed ; but then do I have spare skids in my spares boxes?

the XC-8A had nice skids :

I'd need something bigger than a Veltro  ;)

I recently found a few quite big kits for quite cheap, so temptation was un-resistable :

here is a K-A380 (with upgraded number of engines, too), made from the Heller 1/125 kit, plus additives from AMT 1/72 B52 and KC-135

That's so bright that I didn't notice the extra engines at first, I was obviously dazzled  ;D

Brilliant
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Are the windows there so folks flying alongside can see how much fuel is left in the tanks?  ;)
Cheers.

But that's a seriously good looking model, and at 1/125 it's HUGE!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

thanks all  ;D

I noticed in the KC135 kit that the cargo part seemed to be not used as a tank,
so I don't know actually how much of the volume of such a tanker is used for kerosene?

PR19_Kit

AFAIK KC-135s use their wing tanks and sometimes belly tanks for tanking fuel.

Unlike the VC10 K3s and K4s which have their entire fuselage given over to enormous tanks!  :o
