Those two look superb Ericr.

If you repainted the blue one (DC3 wings) in standard Luftwaffe camouflage I reckon you could fool some people into thinking it was an RW radial engine version of the He-111.  ;)

The Whitley wings on the other are just TOO obviously from Coventry.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

thanks !  ;D

I quite like the Whitley wings : overall the Whitley is nicely ugly actually  ;)

From a Do 217 perhaps ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

There was one in China, an He 111 A-0 that was re-engined with Wright Cyclones in 1943.

The bright blue colour was what-if anyway, I think ;D
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

As an aside Jon do you know what those markings are ?

The Manchukuo AF used characters on the fuselage, but then roundels on the wings. So I don't think it's one of their's ?

Cheers Jon. I thought it might have been in civil (or what passed for it) use.

I found this nose quite fitting (coming from a 1/72 Tu-22) :
