Years ago, one of us built such a half F-82 (with external F-82 wings though), but it had military colours and roundels and guns like a killer, so I prefer your gentle dreamy one... (I say that as a naive pacifist)

So the inevitable reciprocal ie. Hotspur with a laminar flow wing got me thinking - would that have been enough to keep gliders relevant in the jet age, allowing the glider to be towed at high subsonic speeds?

a school picnic, a couple of teachers on one side, pupils on the other, and food & drinks in the central trunk & pod
with a radar to detect hot spots

Thinking again about it: as there are on this model 2 fuselages and 2 engines, this is a "normal" F-82, no?
