Oh yes Ericr, that's tremendous!

I'm just amazed no-one's thought of that combo before, it'd even look good in a real world scale colour scheme.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

The Hasegawa box does offre decals for "realistic" livery

Ooooooh!

I've just re-read what you write in the intro and it looks like the WHOLE thing is a Hasegawa Egg Plane kit, I thought you'd added the Shuttle onto an Egg 747. I've never seen a kit of that in a model shop anywhere, I'll have to keep an eye out.

yes indeed it does exist, possibly at your favorite dealer's e.g.,
http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/HA60507

my modest whiffing is essentially the livery  (in several colors, polychromy, mind you  ;D)
most of the whiffing is done by Hasegawa themselves, with a wolnderful japanese "kawai" approach  ;)

Being Hasegawa, the price is outrageous of course, but...........

We certainly do.

speaking about Shuttles ... here is an hybridization of a 1/144 Shuttle and booster with a Revell 1/16 VW Beetle :
the sizes fit nicely, a trick was in keeping the doors openable ...

cheers,

;D

If I did it again (or if anyone else wanted to have a try, e.g. with a Pan Am livery like in 2001 Space Oddissey),
I would try to have the rear engines a bit more horizontal

Captain Canada

Sweet. I think it looks fast ! I can just see it landing and the first astronaut getting out, folding down the seats to let the guys in the back out. Maybe they are aliens
CANADA KICKS arse !!!!

Long Live the Commonwealth !!!
Vive les Canadiens !
Where's my beer ?

I think I saw a picture of this : the flames are impressive, I hope the lift-off went fine ...

I also tried a 2cv Citroen in the past :

Honestly, it's the honest ones you have to watch out for!!!

and for something completely different :

in the series of bottle with wings, I stumbled upon this estonian beer, and its stunningly angulous bottle :

and I found out that its length was quite the same as an 1/48 Ar234 I had (a sales at cheap price), and the fit was not bad : the rest of the Ar234 is used for another project, animal-wise, you will see it soon ...

Also, in previous experiments with bottles, I received reactions about the propulsive potential of foam, although the bottle was turned forwards, so this time I am trying it out the other way around :

cheers
