Do you have a story to explain it somehow?
It was by T.J. Bass and was titled "The Godwhale". See  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Godwhale
Eric's rendering is more realistic than the original cover illustration, as far as I can recall.
Thanks! I did not know that at all! Great!

Just can't get over the feeling that the whale is wearing his moustache inside out.  :o
Cheers.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

the moustache / teeth are not part of the whif, though  ;D

That's a Twin Otter wing and fuselage I reckon, perhaps with a Beaver's cockpit and engine? An all-DHC Whiff........  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

an all-DHC whif indeed, but much simpler than that actually ...  ;)

yes ! a simple Otter, but with tricycle landing gear, instead of tail sitter.

newt time I should have something more "involved"  ;D

The RW source is well described at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_Havilland_Canada_DHC-3_Otter
and the Otter silhouette is changed from the low tail landplane to meet the horizontal layout of the floatplane version, good!

Ah, but the moustach's relationship to the prow of the Dornier and the way the cheeks push up against the canopy "eyes" is, though. I'm sure the creature smokes a pipe when on dry land and has a "No circulars" sign on its letter box to deter junk mail. Most of all, it cannot bear being asked if it is a relative of Billy the Fish, barking back in a ferocious gurgle, "Whales are cetatean mammals, you nincompoop!"
It might also reply to you, "They are not teeth they are baleen you, you ...." as it splutters mercifully into silent apoplexy.

Reminder:
Cheers.
