Love the jet Dakota! Straight out of a fantasy cartoon, probably one of Studio Ghibli's masterpieces.
Cheers.

Absolutely

The 262 "mash up" has a look about it as well

The 262 mashup looks deceivingly realistic, though with that nosewheel, it's either a civilian racer or a photo-recon aircraft ;)

The Jet Dakota would look realistic enough what with the engines buried with the wingroots, the only thing that now makes it look cartoony is the huge main landing gear. Then again, maybe there is a reason for the large wheels and the extreme nose-up attitude - it's an early experiment of a STOL passenger plane, and the wheels are designed for comfortable landings even on unprepared landing strips. "Tundra tires" are actually a RL thing used when flying out to the boonies (and not just in the Arctics).

thanks a lot all !  ;D

the C45 is not excatly a Dakota, but smaller, and cuter in a way

Sorry, the Notify tool failed to warn me there had been many additions here (my last coming was July 05th in this topic), and today I discover OH SO MANY MARVELS, twin-boom or not, wow!
Wonderful
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

I had this 1/32 Veltro for quite a long time, and suddenly knew how to use it
to make it a buddy-refuelling aircraft (with a boom from a KC-97)

the arrangement is slightly asymetric, because of the tail wheel, but nothing is perfect  ;)

Asymmetric layout reduces prop wash on the refueling aircraft

ahem, while I prefer twin-boom than single-boom, I like this pretty wise model anyway... ;D
