I've got a Revell 'dyne, but not a Superfreighter. Are they still in production?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

No , you can still pick up the Airfix kit in the secondhand market but the prices vary.

and, as expectable, the reciprocal
(nearly by popular demand ;-) )
Belated congratulations! The world is less sad/boring with your additions, thanks! ;D

You're telling me!  :o

The current lowest auction bid is £7.00, and some optimist in Japan is quoting a 'Buy It Now price of £317.00!!!!!:banghead:

He must work for Hasegawa...............

The prices vary.... that's no BS.  Last year I got one for about $30 plus shipping and I also got one for about $8 plus shipping; I was happy in both instances. Then, I decided not to buy any more.

I bet HM Customs are very interested in that one  ;)
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

some kits come with missiles, big enough to be carrying a pilot, so what if they were manned vehicles after all?

steelpillow

The Fieseler Fi 103 was a manned version of the V-1 flying bomb, famously piloted by Hanna Reitsch, the only experienced German test pilot small enough to fit inside! Less well known is that towards the end of her successful postwar gliding career, the USAF secretly recruited her to fly a manned test protoytype of the Boeing AGM-86 ALCM cruise missile (pictured here in its red test livery, as flown by Fr. Reitsch, shortly before her death from a heart attack in 1979).

The manned Blue Steel air-launched rocket plane (from a Vulcan, natch), was genuinely proposed, but went top secret before the (obviously) blue operational model was deployed.

Where do you find your information about these planes, ericr? I thought you only did whiffs!
Cheers.

That manned Blue Steel, with bigger wheels, could also be taken for an LSR vehicle!

Didn't Weaver do exactly that a few years ago? Or something similar anyway.

Actually, if you scale Blue Steel up 3 or 4 times it looks remarkably like the early HOTOL spaceplanes. H'mm, I wonder what scale the largest Blue Steel kit is? Could pass off say a 1:48 scale as 1:144.  ;D
Cheers.
