I'm envisioning an F-89 with corrugated wings now.................... 

The missiles must need HUGELY extended pylons to fire past the props though. 

Turn them around so they fire to the rear.

I was not aware of the original use of these pods : just considered the shape and the potential for carrying engines 
so let us consider that they are luggage/cargo pods

Not yet, but it'd have to be something tubby to go with the very thick Javelin wings.

I thought of a delta Scimitar, but it'd be a shame to spoil one of my superb Skybird Scims, so maybe I should look for one of the lesser Xtrakit ones.

Now there's a thought, how about a Swift?
