AN OPERATIONAL V-12 DIESEL ENGINE THAT FITS IN THE PALM OF YOUR HAND.

This guy made everything at home on his lathe and drill press.

Took 1220 hours (a year and a half?) to make the 261 pieces.

Note the end-loaded crankshaft into the block,

12 individual cylinder heads, TINY rods and pistons, dual "underhead" cams with pushrods to rockers in the heads.

And, he did break-in runs using an electric drill driving the crankshaft!

Even if you're not an engineer, you'll love this!

Flippin eck - amazing, thanks for sharing Glen
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Now that's some skill!

MIND BLOWING!  :o

That would walk a Gold Medal at the Model Engineers Exhibition without doubt, I'm wholly impressed.   :drink:

Lovely job: that crankcase is a work of art isn't it?

Nice bit of work indeed.
One note, the power source is compressed air, it is not
a functioning internal combustion engine.

This one is pretty amazing - a 1:3 scale Ferrari 312PB that is fully functional!

It is in the demo vid but many small scale engineers do that for demo engines as the noise level would be horrendous otherwise.  It may work normally with fuel etc.

Using compressed air is a rule at the ME Exhibition, BTW.

[Later] Indeed, the Ferrari flat 12 in the vid that pyro-manic linked shows exactly what I meant, it was LOUD!
