I read somewhere that the F-111Ks would be built as three seaters and that the escape pod would be ditched in favor of three ejector seats instead. Pilot and two Navigators/WSOs.

Where ? you need to have a genuine reference for that as there's enough misconceptions surrounding the F-111K program without introducing more !.

I think you'll find the additional crew was propossed for the developments of the larger FB-111G/H to bring it up to the realm of a B-1 alternative with the extra crewman doing the EW role.
Project Cancelled SIG Secretary, specialising in post war British RN warships, RN and RAF aircraft projects. Also USN and Russian warships

There is a draft proposal that was circulated by Robert McNamara who recommended funding for the FB-111M-3 project (3 seater alternative to the Rockwell B-1A) back in  November 1965 for the FY budget of 1967-71.
All the details can be found on the Secrete Projects website.

And that is not what I am building.

The aircraft I am building are variations of the F-111 that if not real proposals are based on what happened to real aircraft using the same systems.

So please no second guessing about extra seats and such.

I'll be watching this with interest Gondor, my FB-111H got stalled a while ago. Base kit was the Italeri /Esci kit. Want to see how you tackle the intakes!  :banghead:
Good luck with the builds.

Paul, the way things are going this is more a letter of intent to build the FB-111H as it could take some considerable time before I put saw to plastic on this one. I do have an idea or two about the intakes though but need to gather more data about the actual interface between the outside air and the intake tunnels.

I am changing the title back to just the FB-111H as I have started a separate build thread for the F-111K all on it's own so no one gets confused about what is being build at what time.

Nope, I am simply separating the threads at the moment so there is no confusion between which aircraft is being built as there are TWO aircraft in the topic
